  1. I think everyone’s blowing it out of proportion. The problem lies with that the run we went on last year was false hope as to where we were in our rebuild. Before that run last year armstrong was realistic that we were probably still a few years out. We’re still on track but a year or two out. Broberg Holloway snuggerud Stenberg, Jiricek, Carbonneau neighbours, Mailloux, Lindstein are all young and developing.

  2. Teams want thomas for nothing ,he is only 25,prime if you trade him better be a massive return

  3. I would trade Thomas, Kyrou and Binner in a heartbeat. There is NO fire with those three (okay slight over-reaction). But you have to agree that there isn't any passion

  4. You guys bring up good points.
As a Die-hard lifelong Blues fan, I feel the need to bring up a few other things.
    1. It’s way harder to make playoffs now than it was in late 80s/early 90s…and as of today, Blues are only 5-6 points out of playoff spot despite terrible first half.
    2. Blues success historically is thought of in terms of making playoffs every year, and then having deep/competitive runs (and of course winning Cup finally in 2019 raised the bar)…

3.Blues fans expect that ownership/management/coaching will get a team assembled that has enough personnel to playoffs every year. I still expect that, rebuild/retool or not, Even though 32 teams now competing for 16 spots (and 21 teams in league competing for same number of spots when I first became fan in 1989).

    4. Even with the teams in top 3 spots in our division being total juggernauts, and logically one would conclude that qualifying as last WC spot and facing Colorado seems insurmountable…Blues fans should never and will never think there’s a playoff series that a true St Louis Blues hockey team can’t win. We don’t mind being the underdogs..and honestly, with Binnington and a hockey team that gets hot at right time…crazier things have happened. We saw it in 2019.

    5. This year, several underperforming players. Sure Robert Thomas isn’t as good as last year; also he’s hurt right now…Kyrou has underperformed from stats standpoint, and usually he has been the lightning rod for criticism. We have explored trading him. But we will not and should not dump Kyrou for less than market value. Also, in St Louis, our fans tend to love the hard-nosed, underpaid, gritty / physical players, and if someone is making top dollar and is not physical, and isn’t scoring enough, or in Kyrou’s case is not playing defense and sporting a -38 plus minus a few years ago..and then he makes flippant comment about a beloved coach (Craig Berube) leaving…it took all of that to happen before the fans booed him. And as soon as he apologized and showed remorse for that poor attitude/comment, and went out and played hard, the fans cheered him loudly again…and then next year Kyrou leads team in plus minus.

Longwinded post I expect no one to read…but understand that Blues fans will stay loyal to their team and expect that loyalty to be repaid by players playing their absolute hardest, striving to improve, and believing that with the right culture, enough good players, it’s always possible for a st Louis Blues team to catch fire, gel as a team, and go beat any other hockey team in the league.
