Accari looks like a whole different player this year.
Over this win streak i would absolutely HATE playing this team
Really was just awesome to see them come out firing on all cylinders after this heater they've been on and only getting hotter adding in Geno 👑. Stu is looking great and I'm feeling great LGP 🐧
Me too, DK. I've always thought this team would be better just based on the acquisitions and that this would be a good season. I didn't think they'd be this good in 5v5 play
Idk what it is but it seems like Dan Muse has this team playing free & having fun on the ice for the most part.
I think it’s how Muse operates ALL of the things behind the scenes we don’t get to see much of practices/meetings etc!
Personally I think he deserves a lot of credit! Also Kyle Dubas deserves a lot of credit for the roster he’s been molding & putting together!
Good to see Pens clamp down for 60. I sensed no quit from NJ
DK – I'm happy that Kulak has settled in, but do you think there's a chance or SHOULD Dubas flip him at the deadline? He's been playing well, but I'm still not convinced he's been any more effective than Graves.
DK – I know this question will be irrelevant due to timing, but I think unless the new Geno line really takes off against CGY they need to put the mutant line back together. What do you think?
It's way too early in the season but this depth reminds me of the years that the Pens went deep in the playoffs. If they have this depth in April/May and are still playing like this, the other teams better watch out.
I agree with everything you said, but also to a point, this is what the team should be doing. Every team is going to experience highs and lows within a season(unless your the Avalanche) but the Penguins lost alot of ground in many key games before this and gave up alot of valuable points. I hope this is the turning point and they can stay on track more than theyre not, but the true test will be when they play more true competition like the Canes. Im curious to see how they do against the Lightning.
It helps that their bottom six this year contains actual NHL players. No more Matt Nieto, Emil Bemstrom, or Jansen Harkins tweener types
Thank you DK. They just keep coming in waves and they got six wins in a row. It's been a while sense this has happened. Sure feels like more. Skinner did a great job too. Great show DK
Wave after wave is how we have to do it. Our top players are still great, but they're older and they aren't best in the world anymore. Depth for days is how you overcome, and how I see the post Sid Penguins continuing on. 4 lines deep, Hurricanes style roster building where you don't need to rely on superstars to compete. And once you have that, you can make some shrewd moves like Vegas did to swap organizational depth for some top end talent, and go for it.
Geno looks a little happy to get that goal. I loved seeing him so excited for that goal
Man what a thumbnail! Thank god Geno is back
I hope the Gino/Kindell/Chinakhov line was just an experiment..It just seemed like guys randomly skating out there. I think they should just have gone back to the Big Guy line that was working so well. It seems to have more structure, and be more defense oriented, and be far more imposing. Is there no one on that line other than Gino who can do faceoffs/?
No mention of Letang knowing what would happen and getting the puck to Rakell. Of course not. You're love a Karlsson won't allow it, lol. Btw: I never doubted the Pens would make a run this year. I'm not a press pundit, but I believe in this team.
Come on let's not get too excited. Three of these victories were against Bad teams. Chicago, New Jersey and Columbus
DK, I was thinking as well about the “4th line” designation for Acciari-Lizotte-Dewar…it’s starting to feel like a slur. Lol
Anyone have the metric on how many times the Penguins have scored the first goal in a game? It has to be at the top of the league.
Pens have the best 4th line in the league right now I think, and those guys are also insane on the PK.
