    No shit Sherlock

Well sorry people don’t listen to Steve so ofc.

No plans until a player worthy of trading him becomes available.

We have a lot of pieces that aren’t exactly “untouchable” (although a few are) but should only be traded for the type of player we hope they can be.

Danielson shouldn’t go anywhere unless we’re getting a bonafide top 6 center in his mid 20s or younger. Even for a guy like Rasmus Andersson, trading Danielson would only be opening one hole to patch another. We’re not exactly swimming in center depth during what looks to be our true contention window.

  4. And I don’t have any plans on winning the lotto but if I find a winning ticket I’m still claiming it.

If the Blues want him in a package for a Robert Thomas, trade him. That’s the type of trade that has to be on the table to move him, otherwise, he’s part of the plan here.

I certainly wouldn’t trade him for a rental Rasmus Andersson. And Calgary didn’t end up with a top prospect in return for Andersson anyway.

As part of a package to get 1.5 years of Quinn Hughes? That would have been ok, because he’s better, younger, and signed for 1 extra year. I think Quinn could have been more likely to sign an extension in Detroit than Andersson too, and if he didn’t want to sign, you could trade him again next deadline.

Next week: “Nate Danielson expected to be part of package in Red Wings deal”.

-how much faith I have in “insider” self-masturbatory nonsense.

Does any team plan to trade a player they like?

    No

But if the right offer comes along, it doesn’t matter what you were “planning”.

I don’t think anybody thought the wings were actively shopping Nate around:

Good. Unless we are getting back a quality veteran, just let the kid develop. I like his game.
