Hated to see Rivet go – and then this Gorges guy turned out pretty solid as a replacement.

  3. BlankoNinyo

This makes sense. He was excellent for the Habs in his prime.

  4. Once Hall Gill showed him how to block shots, I really liked Gorges

Edit: obviously meant Hal and phone corrected it.

  5. AsleepSpeeches

Led the league in blocked shots more than once, always played lockdown defence, and refused to waive his NTC to go to Toronto in a trade.

The streets will always remember Josh “Big Balls” Gorges.

For all the talk about Carey Price never having a decent team in front of him, the 2014 squad had one hell of a deffensive core.

  7. oReevee

He would rather go the Buffalo, who at that time did the worst they have ever done in history of the sabres, instead of wearing a leafs jersey, should’ve retired a Habs

Di you guys one was captain of the kelowna Rockets?

  9. BV_Zamboni21

MFer once blocked 100 shots in one game…tough as they come that there #26!

what playing in front of Carey does to a guy

If there was a Norris trophy for defenceman he would have won multiple times in the late 2000’s early 2010’s

  12. LowLemon1823

At blocking shots and being a mentor, yes.

A leader and not just a leader, a Hab. Man nixed a trade to the Leafs.

  14. 1BirdPerson

Dude even blocked shots with the back of his head. In all seriousness, a defensive beast and a criminally underappreciated player during his time

  15. Illustrious-Sink-993

I met his grandma during warmups before a game in Vancouver, she was so sweet. After warmups he came over and waved at her.

  16. ScotianCanadien43

Habs had two criminally underrated D-cores under Berg.

  17. i_love_bubble_butts

Him with Hal Gill and Jaro Spacek…defensively were amazing i feel. Not big names but together they were lights out

  18. Aggressive_Low7995

Blood and guts guy. Played much bigger than he was for sure.

  19. MDevonL

The metric being projected WAR for old players is funny. His career is done what are you projecting

  20. Absered

Why else do you think he was called gorgeous Gorges?
