It's continuing to be difficult to single out one or two players who made it happen for the Wings. For starters, Gibson has been such a backstop for this team over the past two games – he can't get enough credit for the difference he's making day after day. Copp… wow, as Scotty said a couple days ago, he might be the best player day in and day out. His feed to the Cat was really perfect tonight, the screen on ASP's goal. JVR dazzles again. Raymond shows off the definition of class – again. This time with that toe drag, then zips it past the goalie. What a fun team to watch this year. LGRW!

Anyone who grew up watching the Red Wings understands how important Mickey Redmond is to the Red Wings! Hat off and wishing nothing but the best for a speedy recovery from his surgery!

Ax had over 14 minutes last night, Kaner <21, Cat <23, Copp nearly 20.
Alley Cat is the best player on this team. He's the most noticeable night in and night out. Always first on the puck, wins puck battles, clean transitions, plays intense D, incredibly clutch goals and assists. Larkin has finally been dethroned, which is a good progression for this team. Raymond is definitely still in reach to end the regular season as the best Red Wing, but as of now, Cat is the player to beat.
These Wings will be brutalized at some point in the second half. Better go to college headgear if you only plan on pushing and shoving in the battles to come.

It's unfortunate the Sen's scored on the Elmer penalty but I didn't hate what he did. We can't let chippiness completely take us off our game. At times though we need to let other teams know they will not get away with cheap shots.
Ottawa had our number while we tanked but the superior organization will always win the long game.

Soderblom and the 4th line may not show up on the score sheet but they where crucial in the win over the big bad Ottawa Senators.
Could Scotty exaggerate harder about how the Sens bully us? They've kicked our butts a few times. We had a game last season where we totally dominated them and Ullmark saved their asses. And yeah, it's usually chippy, but let's not act like every time the Wings have let it completely shut them down.
