I wondering what the final trade will be.

Either way glad it wasn’t the wings over paying.

The return is a 2027 1st, Zach Whitecloud, a conditional 2nd that turns into a 1st if Vegas wins the cup, and a prospect.

I saw an article a few days ago that we were out on him because yzerman doesnt wanna trade for an expiring contract

I’m not surprised. He screwed Calgary over bad after reports came out that he would only sign with Vegas this past summer. The league doesn’t care either. They love seeing the warm weather no tax teams be hot hockey markets.

  6. BellsBeersy

I’m surprised Vegas has any draft picks at all

Without an extension there was never a chance we were in on it, which is the right decision.

Thank god it’s not us. Makes sense for Vegas, Anderson’s already indicated he wants to play there.

Still, very annoying it’s Vegas of all teams once again

  9. casual_werewolf

I still have no idea how vegas has any picks left whatsoever.

We did not need him. We shouldn’t have paid this much or nearly this much for him. His underyling numbers are not good and yes ASP is not the RD2 right now that we need to compete for a cup this season but he will get bigger and stronger defensively and will be our RD2 for the next 5+ years. If we’re dropping a 1st and a 2nd it should be for Werenski.

Faulk or Ferraro for anything less than a first or werenksi mega deal is now the focus. Was never gonna happen if he wasn’t gonna extend here.

We didn’t want this smoke chat, there will be bigger fish when the time is right

So happy we didn’t make this trade. I never liked the fit even for a cheap price, let alone a 1st, 2nd and a… Prospect? Roster player? I don’t know who the player was that Vegas included. Either way, I would rather us spend resources on worthwhile players or else keep the resources.

No extension, no trade. I’m fine with it. Just like with Hughes. If that’s where he wanted to be then he got the deal he wanted and good for him

I’m impressed with Vegas being aggressive and absolutely maximizing their contention window.

But when they eventually have to rebuild, thats going one painful rebuild.

Much more valuable for a team without a bonafide stud at 1RD and a promising rookie looking like he’ll grow into a dependable 2RD. It’s always frustrating missing out on these but I’m not mad we didn’t get it done.

  17. cabbagesquid

There is no way bro wanted to be here after getting destroyed on that Lime Scooter

  18. thehockeytownguru

Sounds like he didn’t want an extension

  19. Street-Ad5648

Way too much to pay without an extension. Glad Steve passed.
Werenski would cost way more than that. Like Ed or Asp and 2 1st rounder
