Id say George McPhee had as big a part in the trade as McCrimmon. McPhee built and manufactured Vegas from scratch into a perennial Cup contender. Yes McCrimmon is GM but id still say McPhee has a ton say/influemce. In my opinion.
Conroy has an entirely different team and situation to manage, but Vegas is making what moves they need to make in order to make it past the first round…. And likely get to the final. Take notes Conroy/Maloney/Edwards. Vegas is a team that is a destination for free agents or players that are part of any trade. Calgary does not have the benefit of perfect weather year round, low tax rates, or major venues and attractions, so this group has better pull their heads out of their asses if they want to attract generational talent and FA’s. A new arena alone isn’t enough. We need to focus on building a dynasty at all cost, or else risk living in playoff purgatory for another 20 years.
