Semi-related rant on this: One thing I never understood with people in charge of national teams (including Canada) is their refusal to just pick all the best players because « you gotta have role players » but why? Nobody has ever tried just bringing the best players and figure things like the PK later. Teams like Canada and the current generation of USA Hockey could roll 4 scoring lines and overwhelm opponents but they won’t try it. The argument is that you can’t win without defensive players but how do we know it’s true if deep teams like Canada have never tried going « full skills »?
The people in charge are stuck in their old mentality and they build teams like they’re trying to win Best of 7 series in the NHL.

I feel bad for CC for not being able to have an incredilbe experience, but at this point who cares?!? He didn’t get picked, move on! Same with Hutson. In fact, it’s great for Montreal that they are not going to the Olympics since they will be able to rest.
