Hamilton 7 points in 6 games since being scratched. He’s helping us win games while upping his trade value. Team is undefeated when leading after 2. When we get saves, we win.
One of the most hilarious things last night is going to r/hockey and seeing the reaction to the Kovy fight.
It was the exact reaction I expected since half the time people are like “I hate when players have to fight after a clean hit” and the other half is “well you have to protect your star no matter what.”
Just saying the next 5 games are very winnable
God I wish Jake could be 1A. Glad the boys could capitalize on him having a stellar night.
So we lose to the canes in very disappointing style. Then win 2 games in a row sounds like October to me… you know what I’m not going to say anything else haha but in all seriousness this team hasn’t played a committed team defense style since the first month of the season. Very encouraging.
That’s the kind of hockey that wins playoff games. Goalie has a great game, defense holds, you might get less shots but we made a few count when they mattered. Not a perfect game, still too much passing, powerplay was abysmal, but there was clear effort and commitment. Winning 2-1 isn’t a cardinal sin and Fitz didn’t say he WANTS us to win 2-1. He said he wants the team to be comfortable winning 2-1 which, in my view, is perfectly fair. Not every game needs to be a 5-2 beatdown or a 6-5 shootout. Just score one more goal than the opposing team at the end of 60 minutes. That’s all it takes. Simplify the game
I’ll also never wish injury on anyone especially one of our own players but it’s hard to ignore how much more solid the defense looked without Luke playing. Nemo had a gaffe or two but overall…

Nico and Bratt have 11 points the last 20 games. Timo has 5 points in the last 20 games. Jack has 2 goals in the past 20 games. I’m praying to Satan all our top guys have a huge rebound for how snake bitten they’ve been because that will be the difference in making the playoffs or finishing the season below 90 points
I know how this works, but it was wild that I was getting downvoted for pointing out that it was lunacy to keep playing Luke Glendening (who by the metrics may be the worst player in hockey) in a sport often decided by the thinnest of margins.
And notice how much our PK looks better without him.
Took way too freaking long.
Good few wins recently bit we’re still not where we should be. Goals are still hard to come by and we’re still pretty solidly outside of the playoffs. Maybe we’ll go on a run but I can’t help but feel like we’re sitting in yet another underachieving year.
