The Kings need to rebuild (or “retool”) rather than trying to get into the playoffs, where they would be destroyed in the first round. They don’t have the heart to win and this whole season has proven that.
I'd love Vincent Trocheck on the Kings! Great player to have. I'll also pitch a name: Mason Marchment. He's a pretty solid player that we cannot trade for most likely, since he had been dealt already by Seattle, but as a UFA pickup, he could bring sneaky value on a short term deal

Any trade involving the kings 2026 1st round pick would be a mistake. This team is not going deep in the playoffs IF they weasel their way in. We have a chance to be a lottery team and possibly get a franchise player why give that up for a potential rental or an aging center that will leave us in the middle of the league for the two years and prolong this rebuild is beyond me.
Fine with trading for a player but use a 2027 1st if we do or the 2026 MUST be top 10 protected.
Trade Byfield for a center that can win a faceoff, hit the net, and plays their size.
After four straight years of playoff misery, I hope they are sellers. Send Doughty out first, retain 50. Maybe we can get a 5th?
Nooooooo…..no trades..unless they are for draft picks and creating cap space……don't let the current leadership group have any say in the Kings future other than creating cap space and collecting draft picks for use by the future leadership group. At the end of the season, send Hiller and KH packing. Reassign Luc back to original job or overseeing promotions and events where he did a great job. Let the new President, new GM and new Head Coach develop their plan, chart the path, and select the players that meet that plan. I call this "Lombardism." Seemed to work pretty well 2012 through 2014.
I could see EP40 actually doing well here getting to play with fellow countrymen Kempe. However, Vancouver would either need to retain some salary and bring that cap hit closer to $8M or if you take on the whole salary there's not much in value I'd send back. If they were to trade for a pending UFA, it would have to come with an extension. Given the track record of players not signing here, it's not worth the risk.
If Kane comes to LA I am selling my season tickets. I have no interest in seeing him play in black and silver. He is a poison in the locker room and a thug on the ice.
Kemper has not been the same since coming back from previous injury. He has been giving up rebounds that he used to smother. His stats are pretty much identical to Forsberg.
New GM ruined this team, he needs to go and rebuild. Off season we did not improve we took steps backwards. No future here
