Stenberg moves into #1 while McKenna sits at #2.

    >Swapping long-term favourite for No. 1, [Gavin McKenna](https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/576982/gavin-mckenna), with Stenberg wasn’t a decision a scouting team took easily. There were plenty of debates, but the central theme kept back to two things: Stenberg closing the gap as a playmaker, while bringing more physically and away from the puck. Additionally, he looks ready to make an NHL impact as soon as next fall.

    >While most votes were in favour of Stenberg over McKenna, there wasn’t much disagreement that the latter still carries the highest pure scoring upside in the class. If McKenna’s able to develop his physical game enough to translate his cycle game to the NCAA and beyond, he will become one of the NHL’s best producers. The World Juniors were a step in the right direction, but not as significant as we had hoped – especially given how well Stenberg performed in the latter stages.

    >After that, the board opens up, as prospects ranked Nos. three to 11 largely seem interchangeable. Though defenders early in the class aren’t always the safest bet, the blueline core this year looks more special than in years’ past.

Top Canadian prospect playing in the NCAA, top American playing in the OHL

Crazy how many more Canadians are going to the NCAA for hockey than the CHL. Makes sense I guess, you can get an elite education and also play elite hockey compared to playing in the CHL and playing elite hockey but being stuck going to a random school in Prince George or Rimouski…

How big is the talent and potential drop off from mckenna/stenberg to reid and verhoeff?

If I’m picking late-1st, Brooks Rogowski is going to be the #1 target. How is a 6’7” 240lb 17 year old forward that can do what he’s doing even allowed to exist?

This is going to be a fun draft this year, there’s interesting players up and down the first 2 rounds

I really hope the NHL story writers see how amazing it would be for the Blues to get Ivar so we could have the Stenberg brothers and bring even more star power to the central!

Granted I am a realist and the Blue likely will end in 2nd to last place this season and some how even though the draft rules won’t allow it we will still end up picking 6-7th overall. Lol

Villeneuve at 6, let’s hope he does well

What most dont understand is if Stenberg was playing in junior leagues he would obviously dominate too and have the same hype as McKenna

Anyone watch the OHL and have any insight into why Roobroeck is dropping out of the 1st round in so many draft rankings?

He started off the year slower than expected, but has seemingly picked up his scoring the last couple of months.

Is it just the added attention on players who were in WJC and likely not matching last year’s totals? Man, would love if my team could get him as an early 2nd round pick.

Ilia Morozov is underrated imo. His stats don’t pop off the page, but his motor is super high. He’s gonna be very good to whoever takes him.

Does anyone know who the top prospect on Michigan state is? Surprised to not see anyone on here

If Bjorck reaches 13 I’d hope KD throws the Florida 1st and a 2nd to get him. Djurgardens hardly plays Frondell and Bjorck while they both looked better than Stenburg at WJC. Bit of a hidden player from the lack of stats imo.
