Yeah, cause if there’s one thing we need it’s more wingers lol

  2. Perryplat199

He plays left right. That means we’ll make a move that puts michkov on the right. Right.

    Let’s go another Canuck!

    Thanks Taco

We don’t need another 4th line winger.

I’m so done man. I just want the band aid ripped off. Can we fast forward 5 years where new management has the team coming out of a real rebuild with good prospects on the way and more skill

Dear god. Danny briere. I love you so much. Please don’t make me hate you.

Ok lets workshop it. We will take Drew for Hathaway and a 6th or whatever. Then we move Tippet and a third for Wright. Gives us a lineup of

    TK – Dvorkak – Z

    Barkey – Wright – Michkov

    Brink – Coots – Cates

    O’Connor – Pederson – Greb

I think we can work with that. Let Grundstrom be our 13th forward. Or we can let Coots finally get his 4th line minutes although I dont think the front office would do that.

    TK – Dvorkak – Z

    Barkey – Wright – Michkov

    Brink – Cates- Greb

    O’Connor – Coots – Grundstom

    Great as a Hathaway replacement

But we all know that’s not how he’ll be used, welcome your new 2C

This team never fucking changes. No wonder I grew up not liking hockey all that much.

I feel like the woe is me in this thread is blown so far out of proportion.

Their 4C just went down and will be out for most of the rest of the season. Their 4RW is basically unplayable. Their 13th forward cannot be a regular NHLer.

As doomer as this sub is the team is 3 points out of a playoff spot with a game in hand, they are not going to pack it in. They’d need to bench Vladar and trade at least 3 guys for the team to truly bottom out and that is not happening.

4th line is decimated. Looking at a 4th liner. They aren’t trading a first and Bonk for the guy this will likely be for 4th rounder or something. O’Connor doesn’t move the needle he’s at best an average 4th liner. He’s not even the 4th liner I’d want most from the Canucks.

But right this team is one guy getting a stomach bug away from running out a 4th line of Deslauriers-Pedersen-Hathaway, and if that stomach bug comes right before a back-to-back that line will have to play 13 minutes.

The team has an issue. It won’t get better the rest of the season. It won’t cost much to fix it. This isn’t the end of the world.

2cents from a Canucks Fan: DOC is actually pretty solid 3rd line forechecker/penalty killer. Plays hard, but doesn’t take a lot of penalties.

He’s got a big frame, is one of the fastest players in the league and is good at transporting the puck/entering the zone. Overall solid defensively, kills penalties. Lacks the hands/offensive creativity to be a top-6 forward.

Not trying to oversell O’Connor, but he *is* a useful player.

Legend says flyers will someday be in the running for a non 3rd-4th liner but today is not that day

  13. BitterWind1131

I remember back in the day when it was a given Philly sports teams would get whoever was the top player out there and sign em. Perhaps the reason currently is that there isn’t that blockbuster player out there? 🤷‍♂️ we need something to give us a spark

If Tippett is going out the door for Wright, more depth at wing couldn’t hurt.. especially with our 4th line being so poor. You put Mich back on RW, bring in O’Connor to bolster the left side.

Maybe Wright’s stock is lower than Seattle was hoping.
