    How we feeling team?

  2. Perry87

Stay warm everyone and make sure to check in on your friends and family while the weather is so nasty.

A win is always the preferable outcome. But an OT loss to cross-conference team, while down a dman, on the 2nd of a back-to-back, with travel? Then add in that Montreal lost in regulation. There are far worse situations to be in.

Woke up not too long ago and realized I had a dream the Wild had traded Quinn Hughes to the Devils immediately after beating Detroit. In the dream they’d been told he would not sign in Minny and they got whatever they could from Jersey because they needed to recoup whatever they could get, and they were being praised for not “messing around” and waiting to make a deal. I was legit unsure if it was real or not when I woke up! So I looked around online a bit to make sure.

Didn’t think the game last night warranted some of the salt I saw. At least most people were happy with 3/4 pts on the back to back. Fun game, not a fun result

  6. Tourettestic_Park

It’s funny how towards the beginning of the season people were falling over themselves talking about how the top three in the Central are the best teams in the league so far. Funny how the Red Wings have more points than one and has the same points and point percentage but more Regulation wins than the other.

  7. OldBison

I’m starting to think talbot had a goldilocks zone for games played. Play him too much and it’s not good, and play him too little and it’s also not great.

  8. donatopavement

not having simon felt like defence was off

  9. Tourettestic_Park

I hope Steve received the message that we cannot go through the Deadline without acquiring a new defenseman. We cannot make a playoff push with Hamonic in the line up.

  10. TeeDubs317

Got stuck in traffic on the way to work this morning, thanks a lot Hamonic

  11. J-Weaves

So I’m guessing hamonic played terribly last night?

  12. sinjitheone

3/4 points with travel and Montreal lost and somehow Ottawa pissed away a 3-1 lead in the third period and lost the game in regulation, can’t even be mad

  13. xenonwarrior666

I hope that Hamonic’s kids leave their legos lying around

  14. d84-n1nj4

Just watched the consolidated game, wow. Talbot was killing it the first two periods. Hughes is nasty. He looks like a video game character with a cheat code.

  15. Sckibble

Any word on Ed yet? Worried for my boy

  16. pewira71

Welp. Tomorrow night the ice hits. Who knows how bad it will be–I have seen estimates from .25″ to 1.2″. Totally expecting to lose power–the question will be for how long? Helene was over 14 days. Hopefully this will be less than that. The cold spell following isn’t going to help. I sure hope that the weather folks are wrong with this one.

So I’m a believer now…. never really saw Quinn play and just mentally put him as a step below Makar. But this kid plays half the game and isn’t bad defensively.

But without Quinn the Wild do not win or even go to OT last night. This was a perfect trade for Minnesota. They are a bit further along than we are and had some assets that were not necessary for their team TODAY. Like if Vancouver wanted Edvinsson in a trade, that’s a nonstarter because we NEED Ed.

But in all in and can easily rank him as the -#1 Hughes brother

  18. Old-News-3096

I obviously don’t know how guys are in the dressing room or in practice, but you can’t convince me that Gustafsson would be worse than Hamonic as a #7 you hopefully dont play. Sure he might be a tad softer but they both dont defend well and Gus might at least give you an ounce of offense and can keep up with the pace well enough to not take penalties.

Ideally though the answer comes externally. I still prefer a long term top 4 upgrade, but could settle for a Connor Murphy type at this point.

Also if we trade Gus I hope he goes to Boston to complete his Original 6 tour.

  19. BeautifulPlace2Drown

Raymond with 2 goals and not even 1 of the 3 stars of the game, smh.

  20. stanley4wings

I just read that, since Dec. 2, no NHL club has collected more wins (18) and points (38) than the Wings.

  21. 67 points with 30 games to go.

0-0-30 record likely gets us in the playoffs.

  22. Beatricejd

Don’t let Travis Hamonic distract you from the fact that the Sens lost in regulation. Against the Preds. After being being up 3-0.

  23. Honestly not even upset about 3/4 points on an away back to back with travel. And though I fell asleep before OT (smh lol), the Wings looked pretty good up until that point.

What did not look good was a defense without Edvinsson 🫣 wings needs depth desperately especially if they’re going to make a push to/into the playoffs. Not that that’s a new sentiment here!

  24. greythedork12

    Crazy stat for y’all

Since October 23rd, the Lighting (30-9-2) have won more games than the Avalanche (29-5-6)

  25. Nomahs_Bettah

Visiting your guys’s sub for a quick question – my partner and I are spending a snowy New England weekend doing an NHL goal song bracket. Detroit’s had a couple, but what’s the subreddit consensus on the best one?

  26. Benglepuck

We got 67 points through 52 games. You’d imagine to make the playoffs we need 95 points.

That is 28 points in our final 30 games. That is a record of 13-15-2.

  27. levitoepoker

Aljo honestly has stepped up the past few games and showed something. I’ve been impressed but he’s been calm on the puck and limited the turnovers and been solid in the defensive zone.

Also, Debrincat had a clean breakaway with 4 minutes left and he missed the net. That sucks

  28. GiantDongDK

I should be happy for the point last night but I realize as the Wings are getting better I’m getting greedier.

At least when we beat the Jets tomorrow I can say “Nice”

  29. TerranFirma

If all the weather can hold off until Sunday night so I can stay home and not attend this meeting I don’t want to go to that’d be so nice. A snow day as an adult is a rare treat.

Gonna drag through today after staying up, but despite the L the team played good.

    Hopefully Ed is alright.
