i don't know if being tired to end a 7 game road trip is an excuse but isles looked flat as shit and had no fire. the offense was in snooze mode once again like watching paint dry that could get nothing going. and the pp even with a second unit-wtf 0-7? isles not gonna make playoffs with that pp. and what was with 24 on that go ahead kraken goal?
3-3-1 trip. 7 gamer shouldn't be an excuse with all teams taking long east-west trips pre olympic break so i'm not buying it. who would have thought sir duke would be the only isle scoring g's thru the mid season? 29-still goalless since early nov. isles just don't ring playoff team despite their standing. and roy's kooky line combos. i realize you ride the hot stick while it is hot by putting 11 with 13 on top line and drop 29 not producing down but some guys just aren't scoring g's. 27, 49, 29, 64. 51. that is troublesome. 32, 7 add nothing. and isles have no line like the id line that can hit and set a tempo for the game. isles improved-slighty. still with flaws-too many. and no nhl caliber talent to call up from b'port to help up front. trade 27, 44 for a few prospects that can help or young nhl ready talent that can be put in line-up.

It seemed like the Isles suited up for a preseason game last night. The effort needs to improve or their playoffs chances may unravel quickly. Even if they will somehow sneak into the playoffs playing this type of uninspired brand of pond hockey it will end up being a waste of everybody's time. Let's just hope they pick up the pace against Buffalo, otherwise they very well may get embarrassed on home ice

The team is too inconsistent for any serious talk of playoffs. If they do manage to sneak in, they’ll be gone in the first round.
I still think we will make the playoffs, the question is how far we go and what seed we get.
Honestly we need a trade or a good draft pick the crew we got is trash I would say we got 3 players on our team that should stay the rest trade or let go when we can
Darche has done a good job so far but we as fans must be patient! We are still 2 to 3 years from a true perennial contender. It will take just a little more time for prospects to develop. ! It will happen but will take time. Unfortunately there is no consistency yet.
The reality is the road trip was dominated by a lack of effort and scoring. Excluding Edmonton, the team looked uninspired…this is not a contending roster…the team's fans deserve better
Don’t want to sound like a broken record but aside from Colorado the compressed schedule is causing some fatigue related results. Plus increasing the number of injuries. Could be more issues after Olympics.

Gatcomb woulda had more hits in one shift then the defense had lol!! I agree that leaving Gatcomb out was a mistake. That kid is all hustle all the time. Even if he's not getting the hits. He's in on every scrum and every puck battle. Coulda used him last night.
Egregious turnovers. Zero defensive coverage. No hustle coming back (see en goal). Hanging 30 out to dry. He should be trashing the locker room. At least 3 guys on defense need to go before this team can be taken seriously. Just can't trust them. Good d men on good teams just do not make the mistakes we see these guys making. Despite it all .500 road trip was the goal I suppose. Zero confidence in this team going forward though.
The Islanders’ struggles against Seattle aren’t just a feeling the numbers back it up. Since the Kraken entered the league, Seattle has consistently outplayed the Islanders, winning the majority of their matchups and often controlling key moments of the game. Good to be coming home. LGI

They will make the playoffs. It's not saying much, however. I blame the effort on Roy. He has to get the team to give 100% every night, otherwise you're not doing your job.

Three and Four on the west coast trip is not great, but we did pick up 6 points. Look, here's the deal, those of us who are legitimate Islanders fans and represent Islanders country ballzzzzz out, know the score: We're not going to the playoffs. Not with this inconsistency. However, on the flip side, i'm immensely enjoying watching Schaefer, Ritchie, and Heineman develop into future NHL stars. After watching Holmstrom for a few years, and i've said this before, he only does well when paired with Pageau. Therefore, not to beat a dead horse, I believe they should be moved as a tandem for at the very least a first round pick in 2026. Darche has to get a move on with moving players. Take advantage of Duclair's hot streak and ask him if he would waive his NTC so we could move him. Even with the team's inconsistency, and bad luck what with a spate of injuries this season, Things are looking up and i'm excited for the future.

Hi Gil! Geez why scratch Gatcomb? I’ll be honest—he’s a big physical player and this is not a physical team. Roy has got to think a little better than this. Tsippy—head scratcher. Mayfield? There has to be a playoff team that will want his size and playoff fire. He chases and Chases—take bad penalties and he should gift wrap those giveaways. He is a pure detriment. 3-3-1 and I’ll take it. Imagine 1-6? 2-5? Let’s get back Bo! Let’s rest up. Let’s get on a casual win streak and wait till the break. Druoin should sit for a week. He has not done anything. Why sit Gatcomb? He is the only hitter in this lineup. Why is Mac even on the team he brings nothing to the table. Without the spectacular gold tending this team would be a bottom 6 team. There are very few snipers on this team. Sell sell and sell some more.
