  1. Sadly I agree, Stanley is playing his best hockey in his career, and Toews the WPG boy, but the Jets would be dumb if they kept him.

  2. I hope everyone realizes nothings going ro happen… and the jets will finish 19-23rd overall ruin there pick chances… and also will not sell they might even add… but add useless dump… and 100% they will give Stanley 6×6M everything in witch a proper franchise should do… they will not.

  3. Dont trade Stanley. He’s entertaining. That’s all we got and we ain’t gonna win a cup.

  4. Stanley NEEDS to be traded. His value will never be this high. I think both Toews and the jets want 19 to finish his career with the jets. Hopefully after a long playoff run next season or the following.

Pearson, nyqvist, namestnikov, Nino, demelo could all go in exchange for younger assets.

  5. Schenn, Toews, Stanley, Namestnikov, Nyqvist, Koepke, Pearson… part ways with all fo them

  6. Lol, you'll be lucky to get a 4th for Captain Lookstheotherway. He got a pity deal to join his hometown team. He was cooked three years ago and he's even more cooked now.

  7. I’d keep Stanley. Ask the senators or islanders how they feel about trading chara. They also took a similar amount of time to fill into their frame and roles.

  8. Schenn, Pearson, Koepke, maybe even Vladdy. But moving Toews would be a monumental failure to the fans, with him, it's not just about playoffs. Stanimal I am actually torn, would i love to have him stick around and be a fan favorite, absolutely. But do I want a 5×5 bottom pairing guy? Not really

  9. Definitely have to trade him. His value will never be higher And all the folks saying keep him because he's finally playing well after 10 years need to look up the definition of sunk-cost fallacy. Yeah, it's great he's playing well, offensively, after 10 years of development, but the return that can be gotten for him is far greater than extending him for 5 years. Especially, when this is first season of producing these offensive numbers. The odds of it continuing are low.

Want a prime example? Neal Pionk from last year. All these same folks wanting to extend Stanley were wanting to extend Pionk. Extend him because we simply can't lose him and he's having a great season with 39 points in 69 games and was +21. The realists were saying it's unlikely he repeats these numbers again, due to the face he was about to turn 30 and only plays well Samberg. Alas, he was extended, and look at his stats this year. 8 points in 40 games, which is on pace for his lowest point total since his rookie year. He's also been oft-injured this season, which is a risk with older players. But folks were saying we absolutely could not lose him. Now folks, think some team is going to want to trade for Pionk's contract just so we can keep Stan?

Getting back to Stan, he's a third pair d-man, which are a dime a dozen. He's not driving the third pair, and since he's not trusted defensively, his minutes are constantly sheltered in the third periods of games. How is that worth $5M a year? As a defensemen, you kind of have to be trusted defensively, and he isn't. And room needs to be made for Boumedienne & Freij who are coming in the next 1-2 years. They shouldn't be spending 4-5 years on the Moose waiting behind older d-men like Stanley. That's not how you develop young players.

  10. Totally agree. Trade Stanley, Toews, or some of the old guys on short contracts that can fetch draft picks or prospects like Namestnikov, Pearson, Nyquist, Schenn, or Neiderreiter. If can get assets, we need to trade and restock the prospect pool. Not that some of those guys will get us much.

  11. Toews is worth as much as Kane. Not a forking thing. These old heads thinking they were all Crosbys and Ovis I guess

  12. Toews definitely will not be traded nor should he be. He decided to come back to play and decided to play for his hometown. He’s not going anywhere

  13. Toews ain’t going anywhere, he said it clearly that there’s no other team he’ll play for before the season started. He has 3 cups 🏆🏆🏆

  14. toews is going to get extended. he's going to do a 3 year contract that is 1 way first year and 2 way years 2 and 3. first year will be 3 million and second and third year will be 1 million each.
