Just posted this too! I don’t understand, it feels like a bad move.

I need an explanation right now.

Is there an incoming trade or something?

More ice time while the NHL goes on break would be my best guess.

Possibly to allow him more playing time during the Olympic break? The AHL doesn’t stop like the NHL does during that period.

I thought he looked really good.

He’ll be back after the TD

Has to be to play in AHL All Star/keep playing during Olympic break/someone else is getting showcased before trade deadline.

  8. PurrmanJones

This is not the move of an organization attempting to win games

It was just roster math that didn’t work out. Still sucks. At least he’ll get all the playing time he’ll ever want down in Rockford.

More context… Ben Pope reported that with all the returns from injury that the team was carrying 15 forwards this morning at practice and this sort of move was inevitable.

    The lines were:
    – Nazar-Bedard-Turbo
    – Bert-Dicky-Mickey
    – Greene-Moore-Burakovsky
    – Donato-Fliggy-Slaggert
    – Extra 5th line: Dach-Lafferty-Lardis

Could this have anything to do with the the Olympics break? Maybe they want him playing in competitive games and not taking a month off from them.

I think the team wanted him in Rockford for most of the year anway but with the injuries he was their best player and needed to be called up. We will see him again no need to panic

Dunno what the surprise here is for. Dude got almost all of his points on the power play. He was getting roasted 5v5 (team worst in most fancy stats) and is CLEARLY not physically ready for the NHL. He played 21 games and was on the positive side of scoring chances in just 8.

He was only up in the first place because of injuries to top six forwards and the lack of literally anyone else with scoring talent in Rockford.

He needs a lot more time.

Means that Teravainen is coming back into the lineup.

No room for Lardis in the top-6 now that everyone is healthy. They clearly want him playing 1st line minutes and PP1 in Rockford instead of 4th line with the big club.

this is really unfortunate. i really enjoyed watching him play for the blackhawks 🙁

Since Tubro is back it looks like it’s either put him in a spot he shouldn’t be playing in, the press box, or send him to Rockford. Rockford and keep playing with high minutes is definitely the right call.

Turbo is back and we have too many forwards again. This just allows him to play more. Especially with the break coming up next week.

Surprising but lemme tell you the Icehogs NEED HIM 🤣☠️

Lardis showed well. It’s been a very good first year pro for him; better than I think anyone would have anticipated, if you watched him in junior. With TT coming back, they had to move someone down and he makes more sense than sending Dach or Slaggert at this point, who you’re more comfortable playing in depth roles. Won’t be surprised if Lardis is back up before the year is out when they start moving some bodies.
