There`s something definitely wrong – Stolarz tells the coach if he plays or not? I said the Hildabeast should have started against Colorado and not Stolarz – stolartz should have had a couple of games with the Marlies before returning to the big league – Maybe bench the top line? make them watch from the press box 0 maybe that will light a fire under their a$$? – Sick of this schitt – some of the team players are clearly not trying – yor`re right the fans deserve better – I would be more supportive if they tried and lost as opposed to not trying and continually losing – ANY player who states it`s just another game needs to sit out –

Yes guys. I wrote Nylander in his Youtube…not on IG but saw his apology. However, true summary of what it's like at a Leafs game. Worked in Winnipeg for 4-5 months last year, went to 2 games, either way win or lose, those fans have so much fun…better food too (that's important;). Something about T.O….everyone's more fun elsewhere…and there for their team;) Mostly, how could all these coaches, of late, be 'wrong'…something is up. Tx

There are a few things I noticed about the Leafs. The skate by, an Auston Mathews specialty. He skates by the defender in the defensive zone when he has a chance to make contact or force a pass. I think he is thinking they are going to pass and they don't and he skates right by the guy with the puck. He did it at the recent Canada Cup when Marner had the puck in the corner and instead of Mathews checking Marner, Mathews, skates by him to intercept a pass and Marner waits, then passes the puck to Crosby for an easy goal.
The second thing they do is forget to secure the puck in the defensive zone. They are reaching and skating away from control and the puck is easily stripped, instead of skating to control the loose puck. This again decreases their odds of successfully get control of the puck. They are actually skating out of the zone to score long before they are even clear of their own zone. Willie is especially bad for this. So is Knies.
Kneis does not take the open man when he is back defensively but goes after the guy with the puck along with the defenseman. I have seen this on multiple occasions.
Once they are down, they panic and make more mistakes clearing the zone and all of the players do it.
What I really liked about Marner is his ability to take control of the puck. Unfortunately his coaches never ever coached the guys to adjust, to be able to assist in his brilliant play. Or tell Marner just dump it in if there isn't anyone else. And that made Marner look bad as he would get trapped while the rest of the team did nothing to really get open.

It’s been clear since the start of the Matthews era that the coaches have no authority on the bench. The inmates have been running the asylum for far too long. The bottom six, who get no ice time, routinely get scratched for not producing. Matthews floats too many games and never gets benched, instead, he gets 20 minutes plus every night.
