Man, I feel so bad for him… Miss him in Boston. I hope he’ll get out of it…
This is so important. It takes more strength as you might think.
It’s gotta be the hardest position mentally in pro sports.
Sounds like my dawg needs some Escitalopram
You skipped the part where online warriors created a false narrative to tear him down for ‘reasons’
Those three words « I need help » are almost impossible for most. The phone feels like 1000lbs when you’re in that position.
It took me years to reach out, but finally did and am sober going on 18 years.
Good for Ullmark for getting help with his mental health.
Anyone without a paywall?
Wishing Ullmark the best, I’m glad he made the decision seek help
Take the time you need Linus. Proud of him for being so outspoken and open about it.
Good guy who deserves help and consideration. Brave motherfucker too. It’s easy to let those feelings consume you. Turn into someone you hate , self medicate with a million different substances and even easier when you have the money to do it. Guys like Linus, the ones who chose the harder path. The one that leads to recovery and being there for your family and friends down the road. Those guys are examples to be followed. Those guys get a stick tap from me, crest/colors be damned.
Geez can’t imagine how bad it must have been for a professional athlete to tap out
Really wanted to read this but not going to pay for an online article. I’ll assume it’s a good program.
Good on him. Most of us can’t fathom the pressure pro athletes feel. One stupid rumor and suddenly everyone thinks they’re an expert about your life. Dude stops pucks for a living. He doesn’t walk on water, and even if he did there would be people saying it’s because he doesn’t know how to swim. He should have the space and privacy to learn, grow, and heal.
I love this man. I loved him in Boston and I love him now. So brave! Sending you a Bear Hug Linus!!
I’ve experienced a lot of physical and emotional pain in life and nothing came close to a bad anxiety attack. It’s lethal, man. Good to see he’s trying to get help.
Bet that BS didn’t help.
Seems common when you’re around Brady Tkachuk
It will suck if he retires like Price. Hope he can recoup. Get this man some friends like swayman again.
Who were the beat writers who spread the rumors? Someone post the receipts so we can go on a Reddit crusade
I’ve struggled with an anxiety disorder for most of my life and I’m so proud of him for asking for help. That shit is a beast to deal with, and I hate that he is. Glad they have resources for this, there shouldn’t be any shame in getting help to work through it.
