That means something’s probably gonna happen tonight like with palat. i hope it’s us but don’t count on it. if nikishin is out then it’s a bad move

Yeah. I’m having trouble thinking who we would have to give up for him.
CHamsterdam
I don’t see how he fits with the way we play.

I hope it’s not us

No thank you

I hope it is not us.

not sure why everybody here is so against him being here. if we’re able to lock him up for 2 years we’d have a crazy top 4 wingers (svech, jarvis, ehlers, panarin). we’d be free to look for a center.
getting panarin would be an absolute win now move though, I don’t see us keeping blake and stankoven for any big fish type of move. just cause he’s so old
of course there’s a need for center but that hasn’t stopped FO from going for big name wingers like jake or rantanen before, even when KK was our 2C. and stankoven is much better than him

Sigh, please no.

I can’t imagine it being us, but it’s definitely someone. I honestly would rather have Trocheck back.

9 games left before the trade deadline, and a good chunk of it before then is going to be a roster freeze. Something’s gonna be brewing.

For the people who don’t want him, keep in mind he’s a rental, this is the final year of his deal. It’s not going to be a huge return for him, so this could be in the realm of possibilities – depending on what the Rangers are looking for as a rebuild. If they want higher prospects and a young NHL player, that’s a no.
But if a few picks and a prospect other than Nadeau gets this done – he’s still quite the finisher, we’d just have to know he’s not going to really go after it defensively. But that’s fine, we can cover a winger if he’s putting pucks in the net, especially if he’s doing it on the PP.
In short he would make us better, absolutely.
But even 50% retention makes it pricey and probably ends a legit 1/2 C down the line.
All that to say I also really don’t think it’s us, but if it were I absolutely wouldn’t turn my nose at it. At the right price.

Please not the Canes. If Boom goes i will cry

Probably LA, he’s gonna want a big market.

I spoke to a coworker who is a Rangers fan about this. He said he keeps hearing that Drury is hoping to get a first and a prospect and that is what he has been shopping Panarin for.
That wouldn’t be unreasonable for us, but the prospect may be tricky. They have a plethora of wingers, kinda like we do, so the prospect would likely be D or a C
we have plenty of firsts to be able to afford to take a swing, but I feel our bigger need is at C compared to wing

I foresee a 3 way trade where we randomly end up with a draft pick or 2 and a second tier asset we flip for something bigger
