Pathetic how cane's played last night and we only got 1 goal. I don't want a rebuild, but I'm very close to being done with these players. Credit to the Canes, annoyingly a very well run team who seems to lose players and still get better. At least with Dougie he has a market, who is taking Marky's deal? worse than Palat's now he's extended.
You said in your video it's just one game … I've still not got over the leafs 4-0 game and that was just one game too … not so much the result, but the way we played. Embarrassed to be a fan tonight and this season. Fitzy painted himself into a NMC corner that he can't get out of.
I thought the Canes were going to stomp on us but the first period was pretty evenly matched. I really believe Keefe leaving Markstrom out for 9 goals against did something to his head. The entire hockey world is waiting for NJ to make some trades and nothing's happening. We lost a whole season IMO when Fitz couldn't fix the terrible goalie problem and now we are desperate for changes and again he's not getting it done. With the talent on that bench it's clearly the coaching that is not getting the maximum output from the players. We are 5 points out of 3rd place and there is time left to get there but the owners appear to be sticking with Fitz and Keefe.
There are too many passengers on the Devils. There will be no change for this team if they cannot beat the Canes. This core is not it. They will never be able to beat the Hurricanes with how it is currently constructed.

We aren't going to beat the Canes as long as Luke Hughes is on the ice. If Luke isn't a healthy scratch tomorrow, I am done with the team for this year. He is coddled because of his last name.
Markstrom is playing like he always has, one good year one bad year.
Jack is still hurt, he only came back when he did to be named to the Olympics. Jack has zero strength in his hand. You can tell every time he enters the O zone and a defender knocks the puck of his stick because his grip is weak.
Daws has to clear waivers each time so it is risky to bring him up and down.
No one is coming to save this team. I'm tired of looking to the horizon for the cavalry…nut up and take care of it…or trade Nico cause he ain't coming back

Completely agree. Aside from the defensive turnovers, this offense is soft as baby shit. No one crashes the net they def all flank on the sides. No grit on this team at all. On top of that, I agree Markstrom is horrible

But theyre in 6th place versus the 1st place team. I think they need to string some wins together and gain some confidence and hopefully make the playoffs.

The fact that TF came out, and lied through his Goddamn teeth at the press conference, shows you where he is, and WHO he is. He’s in over his head, he’s incompetent and he’s f* ked this club up, for YEARS to come. Next, the trading away of our future, to add a 35+ year-old veteran to try and save his own ass. carolina fan here. devils are pretty decent and have been for the last few years. i dont know how but we are just your kryptonite. don't slander your team you guys played very well last night. I would call you cup contenders if you didnt lose hope as soon as you let one through the pipes. its quite rare to sit carolina at 0 shots for the first 10+ minutes.

If it wasn't clear to those holding out hope, it should be now that we're missing the playoffs this season. We're 15th in the East and last in goals for. We're capped out with lots of no move no trade contracts, and our GM lacks the balls to force moves/fix some of his mistakes. My only hope is Management decides to can Fitz in the off-season, and let someone else try fixing the mess that seemed so promising 3 short seasons ago.
This season has been a waste of time. I wouldn’t be so angry if they didn’t have the players in place to actually do something once in a while, which leads me to believe that it is management – Fitz & Keefe – that have lost this team. The Devs get behind in seemingly every game, and you know what the result is going to be! I’m sure the Devs can still make a run – but to lose in the first round? Is it even worth it?! I wish I knew what the best fix is, but I don’t. There have been some really poor personnel decisions made, and will continue to be made under this management group. It’s time for changes – I just hope it’s not a 3 year fix!
