  1. “I mean, it was very hard,” Blueger said. “There were two setbacks throughout the process. I think the whole timeline ended up being double, if not more, than what kind of I originally anticipated. The whole thing, from the diagnosis to the treatments, it wasn’t straightforward, as weird as that might sound. You’d think: ‘Okay, here’s your injury, this is the protocol, go through these steps.’ But it didn’t go like that. And with each setback, it was increasingly more difficult.

I think it was clear from when Quinn said in a media session in front of reporters how the handling of Pearsons hand injury was not right that this organization has a serious medical team issue

  3. Rendole66

Burn it down and rebuild from the ashes, that includes the power this team is fucked

  4. Crazy-Cook2035

Wee don’t have a training facility

This is going to continue, players have said the importance in recovering from injury in having that base to just grind away in.

  5. ManyArmedGod

Way too common, I wonder what each teams man games lost over the last 5-10 years would be. I think we may be right up there.

Probable bad medical staff, no dedicated practice facility, aging building, bottom of the league. Not looking good for the future. New owners could help

  6. NickdoesnthaveReddit

I mean, wasn’t management not even making the minimum threshold of requirements/budget for medical staff recently? Being frugal with medical departments AND having some of the worst injury numbers/players with chronic and ongoing ailments may go hand in hand…

  7. kneejerk_nuck

We need a hospital before a practice facility.

  8. Solar-Soldier-7914

Fuck you Francesco, you cheap piece of scum bag. You back stabbed your business partners to buy this team; slowly turn a world class organization into a joke of a franchise; you don’t take care of your players by hiring an insufficient medical team; you refused to rebuild just so you can create an illusion of a competitive to the casual fans to boost ticket sales in the regular season and hope for a minimum 2 home playoff game each season. Your conduct directly led to the departure of one of the most talented player in franchise history to leave this team in his prime. Sell the team if you are struggling financially; all Canucks fans and people in BC deserves a better run team than what you are currently doing.

Been saying the same thing for years.
You can also add Hughes to the list too.

  10. The_Cozy_Burrito

Keep in mind that Hughes spoke out about the Pearson injury and basically how these morons screwed up big time.

  11. No-Platform1052

The entire medical team needs to be overhauled. How much worse does it need to get?

  12. poundcake1293

Rumour has it that Demko was doing rehab without medical supervision a couple of summers ago after he got knee surgery.

Do other teams have as many complicated injuries as the Canucks do?

  13. Icestarfish

I post this in every post that is critical of the medical staff:

You’re right. Those articles of the Canucks « possibly » skimping on medical staff aren’t just rumours. When I bring up « Well Health » to my RN and LPN coworkers in my interdisciplinary team at work, they were appalled an org like the Canucks would use a mediocre company like that for their athletes. Keep in mind most of them don’t follow the Canucks.

Also, the Canucks LOVE to advertise their partnerships at their home games in the form of baking in giveaways during the TV timeouts and intermissions. From Save on Foods’ gift cards, to Aqualini ‘s own Italian restaurant chain CinCin, and more. You know what’s never advertised for giveaways? You guessed it…Well Health. Maybe it’s a point of shame for them that they’re not proud of advertising?

Would be great to have a nice facility where they can train, rehab, get the services they need all in once place devoted to our team, and if they could practice there too… sounds great, keep the rehab with the other players so they stay bonded.

  15. Loud_Examination_138

The owner definitely needs to go. As long as he’s here, this franchise can’t climb out of this dark period.

They’ve only had three good years since getting swept by the Sharks in 2013. One was the COVID bubble season, and another was that one—now looking back—fluky year against the Oilers in the second round.

I grew up with the West Coast Express era, which had regular-season success and playoff appearances, and then the Sedin era, which I’d say officially began in 2007. Thats a lot of years of suffering there as a fanbase.

  16. surevanc54

I remember jamie dodd questioning petey when he was practicing but not playing as if NO OTHER PLAYERS DIDNT HAVE SETBACKS. Just this season alone there have been like 5 players (didn’t actually count) with setbacks. MAYBE WE SHOULD QUESTION THE ORG WHO ONE YEAR DIDNT HAVE THE MINIMUM STAFF ON A MEDICAL TEAM.

Wake me up when we get a new owner

  17. Gaglardi

Every single Canucks fan should be tweeting at Francisco Aquilini that he is a fucking failure and that the city wants him gone, the man screwed us from having competent ownership when he backstabbed gaglardi only to run the franchise into the ground, we could be what Dallas is now if it wasn’t for the aqualini family

I hope the city never forgets how pathetic the aquilinis are

  18. sasksasquatch

Once or twice could be dismissed as bad luck and could happen to anyone. Three to five is a bit concerning but maybe stuff is a bit tricky. When it is as often as it is with the Canucks, that’s a trend and people need to be replaced and improved upon.

  19. niht_awl

I’m starting to think maybe Tanev and Salo weren’t injury prone, we just had trash medical staff. 🤔🤨

  20. downonmatrix

The owner cheaps out on a practice facility… yk the thing that helps the players do their job. Not surprising he cheaps out on other areas like medical staff as well. This is why Canucks will never win the cup. Our owner is not all in

  21. niht_awl

Zeev had to seek a second opinion for a fractured cheekbone 🤦🏻‍♂️ that tells you how much faith he has with the medical team 🤣
