I refuse to believe Svech is turning 26. He’s obviously still our 19-year-old baby boy, this is outrageous fake news

9 goals in January (maybe more depending on how tomorrow goes). Whatever he’s doing, make sure he keeps doing it.

He looks really fast right now carrying the puck but another thing that’s stood out to me is his start stop in the offensive zone protecting the puck. He’s so quick and powerful that he can shed defenders easily which opens everything up for his teammates.
I’m not at all surprised by his CF% this year because it matches the eye test. He makes multiple plays a game that lead to Grade A chances and his pts could be even higher. I think January he started scoring and his teammates have as well.

I think a lot of people tend to forget how recently he had a major injury. Makes sense that he had a dip for a bit and recently started to recover

I’m far from an expert but until this year it’s always seemed to me Svech didn’t know how to use his size to his full advantage. He’s figured out how to not only outskate guys now but also outmuscle them when he needs to, to me that’s been the difference.

He finally feels confident after all his injuries mixed with rod being confident in him!

I think it’s having another Russian Player like Nikishin is the difference and why he’s playing better now.

Jarvy passed along his resistance band routine on to Svech

Anyone who knows more than the laymen about sports performance or sports analytics can SEE WITHOUT A DOUBT that Svech’s skating speed and edges look 20-30% better than previous years. He’s the fastest player on our team (minus Ehlers) and he’s not falling all over the place in the corners when he makes his quick cuts and turns. He is officially back to pre ACL injury Svech trajectory imho and he could easily FINALLY hit the 40 goal mark next year if he keeps healthy and stays in the weight room and gets a bit stronger (yes, Russian Bear can always get stronger)

The guy had a major injury. One that used to end careers. Medicine has improved, but it is still a big adjustment and recovery period, and it’s completely normal for it to take 18-24 months to be back to 100%

I think people forget that fact way too quickly
