We weren’t as wracked with injuries, just poor play. Now we have injuries and poor play.

Injuries aside, the teams competing for the wildcard are much better this year.

A lot of 40s ahead of us that year.

If the Panthers miss the playoffs, it isn’t due to their poor performance. Yes, it’s frustrating to lose games like the Blues game last night. But the reality is we are missing players to make us a top tier team. We got one back and we lose another. It’s the tax of 3 straight cup appearances.

They are on pace for a wild card spot given a normal season. This year the Atlantic division is stacked. Any team in the division aside from Ottawa and Toronto won’t be an easy out in the playoffs.

All of this fretting is going to be hysterical when we three peat.

    Destiny will not be denied.

That’s great except look at games played. I’m not saying we are out already but it’s going to take one hell of a run just to have a chance. Not to mention the revolving door of injuries this year (which continues now with Lundy)

I remember watching closely the Panthers that season because my team had your 1st round pick.( Habs ) Telling myself good we’ll have a good pick for our rebuild. Barkov missing couple of games to injury. Just to get in the playoffs because the Penguins could not beat the f**king Hawks and become the best team in the league!!

Habs fan here, I remember that so well because we had your unprotected 1st pick and it looked like a lottery one for a while. Then you guys pulled some voodoo and 2 cups later you haven’t looked back. I am hoping against hope that you miss the playoffs but know somewhere deep down that it isn’t going to happen.

I aint doomin yet but i am a bit worried, simply because the East is a bloodbath this year.

It ain’t over til it’s over.

With that being said, they’re gonna need guys to rest up over the break and please not let any Olympian’s get injured. If they can come back with all of the missing guys besides like Barkov and I have no idea where Nosek is, they’re a strong enough team to make a real push.

They’re also going to need some help from the other Atlantic teams – BUFFALO MTL AND BOSTON STOP WINNING.

How soon we forget Lightning went to three cup finals in a row. Winning 2 and losing to the AVS in 6 with no Point in the lineup.

Your team benefited by the fact we won the Cups and for the next 4 years we continued to lose players due to frozen cap space. Carter is with you because there was not a 150k in the cap space available to resign him.

You got a huge bonus with the add of 8mil last year to help you resign players.

    We never had that opportunity.
How soon people forget in the second cup run Kucherov missed the whole regular season came back for the Playoffs and we won cup #2.

Is it doable for your team to get back. Of course but you need to start winning some games. ATM every team in the division is winning.
    BUF 7-2-1
    BOS 8-1-1
    TAM 8-1-1
    DET 6-2-2
    MON 5-4-1
    FLA 6-4

No one is separating from the pack.
About 30 games for each team to go it’s going to be a blast watching it unfold as a fan of HOCKEY. Of course we both want our respective teams to succeed to the top. But there is something to be said about wear and tear it’s absolutely a factor.

Good Luck can’t wait till next week when we play your boys once again.

The cats are gonna have to win 20 out of the next 29 games a monumental task especially with all our injurys and bob sucking ass this year but can be done

Honestly, I’m fine if we don’t make the playoffs. There are plenty of opportunities for us to get a streak (especially after the Olympics – i can’t imagine Barkovs not going to have a fire lit under him), and Boston could easily fall off if the right things happen.

But at the same time, the human body can only take so much. Oh, they’re all tired and exhausted after getting to the finals 3 times in a row? Who’d have guessed that?

Maurice is the best coach we’ve had in decades. Anyone asking for his head needs to calm down.
