Nazar has 24 points as well. Does he no longer count as a rookie based on the number of games he played last year?

It is what it is. For Blackhawks fans it’s always gonna be torn in our eyes unless Lev is not great down the road. We cannot change it so we just need to live with it. But right now it specially hurts a lot more because we so much suck on offense and we would sell farm for young dynamic forward to play with Bedsy. We are not fun to watch. We might be one day but right now we are not. I hate losing but I hate even more that we not fun to watch and losing. Pisses me off. Because losing gonna grant you top high end talent at the end. So we gonna be fine. But fun to watch could have being less frustrating and solved in that draft.

Demidov was always gonna rack up pts in that MTL offense. They’re a juggernaut, loaded with several players who are either breaking out or already established as elite young talents. Just the PP alone is an easy opportunity for him to rack up assists which is exactly what he’s been doing, though he’s also scored at 5v5.
Levshunov has already shown off a level of talent that justifies him being selected where he was. He just needs to learn and grow into the player we need him to be at what is a very pivotal position. It will pay off in the end.
The real reason it makes sense(though it may be hard to see now) is because we still have FIVE 1st round picks from the previous 2 drafts…all of them forwards…who are all still coming up in our system. Plus Kantserov who was a gem found in round 2. So the forward position will be corrected in due time, even though at the very moment it’s easy to look at his production in MTL and say “man it would really help us out if we had Demidov”. In reality it’s far more complicated than that and we made the smart move by selecting Lev if you think big picture.

Ya, Demidov is good, I like his play, he’s pretty fun to watch and MTL without him is still a much better team than we are lol. (and as a bonus, Schaefer!!! Damn I didn’t expect him that high!) I do feel it’s a bit mean spirited to the poster from 2 months ago though lol, I think they were just excited (and it was about assists too, this is total points it seems?). But I digress.
I’ll keep my own views on it separate, but the pick is what it is at this point, obviously a lot of people here wanted Demidov but for those who did want him, unfortunately the Hawks did not pick him. In my opinion we have to *somewhat* look away from this (to not seem like exes that never were, lol), but also because I think at this point Levshunov’s development should be more of a focus for us. He’s on the hawks whether people here like it or not, and there’s many who want him in the AHL, some who want him to stay up, etc etc. Like sure he’s 20 and we’ve all heard the thing about defensemen taking longer (they do) but that doesn’t mean he’s above critique either, or conversations about their play. We can still say when he’s doing rough etc. For an example on our own team, we all really liked how Rinzel was playing, and then he had a rough stretch, and was sent down.
Preaching to the choir, but I do feel that there’s a lot of harsher, more personal hateful comments towards Levshunov on other social media during either a rough patch for the Hawks, or for example, his recent bad game against the Penguins, which is unfortunate, but isn’t representative of the larger fanbase. But still, can suck to see as I think it takes away from the more genuine conversation surrounding a player, their play, if you preferred one pick or another, etc etc.

You can dwell on what might have been or you can deal with what is.
