Pasta didn't miss a game last year. Kipper has a point – you can't purposely put a bad product on the ice when STH paid well in advance for very expensive seats. NHL is a business and that would be bad business.

The Leafs would need new management immediately if anyone there tries to acquire Robert Thomas from the Blues with the little bit of assets they have left, While still needing an entire D core for the last decade.
It blows my mind more fans haven't stopped spending money on this joke of a team. How about if you can't trade Morgan Reilly by the end of this summer, they have to buy him out to get him off this roster. A 2nd pair D in his prime playing 1st pair minutes, now at best a 3rd pair D in his current form still playing 1st pair minutes, What a travesty of roster management for the last decade.

To me Matthews has never fulfilled his contract, he has never shown he's worthy of the C, tbh not everyone who's worn it has, and he has China doll syndrome and has become what was once called injury prone. No matter the lip service every year he's been here he's first out the door, on the plane and gone. Not sure how that's worthy of the claim I love Toronto. Luke Fox wrote an article today about how the Leafs have to show Matthews the Leafs are worthy of him, what! They've given him everything he has asked, and IMO he has never given enough back. He wants to be first our the door, I say make his dream come true!
why would those other teams like WInnipeg care if the Leafs move into their lottery spot .Theres a big difference between those other teams and the LEafs .Those other teams still own their 1st round pick – the LEafs do not ( unless they end in the bottom 5) If you are WInnnipeg ,do you really care if the have the 3rd overall or the 7th? Leafs are in a different boat then those other teams becasue if they dont drop to the bottom 5 ,that pick is going to Boston
This gent that called in at 55:00 does not know what hes talking about !!! .Its easy to say that now with the benefit of hindsight . THe LEafs were trying to go for it and they went all in and it didint work I still beleive to this day that if Bennett had not run into Stolarz ( Cheap shot) in Game 2 ,the Leafs would have got by the Panthers and would have made the final against the Oilers .Most draft picks are a crap shoot anyway ( unless your picking in the top 5)
In short there is nothing wrong with trading picks to go for it ,the problem is Tree didint trade for the right guys .Like a 1st rounder to get LAughton ?? when i say that was like WTF

Minten was a 3rd line projected center I remember people where saying this to justify the trade. Like bruh the kid was still developing and had all the tools and height of a 2nd line C and the leafs barely let him get time to make mistakes and learn how to play at a certain pace. It reeks of the Carter V. situation where the toiled in the minors for years before going to the Lightning and Panthers. Like unless you're a A1 prospect you have little chance of making a lineup then they keep Robertson and all these short guys because no one will take them we basically gave Boston two top 10 picks for Carlo to reward these chumps. When Carlo clearly wasn't who he was when his stats were clearly on a decline and then he ultimately needs surgery along with Tanev who can't stay healthy and Morgan that looks like hot garbage.

In a vacuum the Leafs might be able to land a Robertson except its not a vacuum and many teams will be in on him if he becomes available. Leafs need to pull a Hershal Walker type trade where you move Matthews for a haul, and then look at moving Nylander for a smaller haul
The last 10 years have been no different than the 10 prior. Every year ends in embarrassment, disappointment and disaster. No one cares if they were good in the regular season. Take this to the studs. It’s be 60 years. What’s another 5-7? Seriously.

i'm not 100% sure but the pick is top 5 protected meaning if they finish in the top 5 they keep that pick whether the lottery keeps them there or bumps them out of the top 5 but if they finish say 7th boston gets that pick even if the lottery moves that pick into the top 5 and sammy is right we can crack the top 5 playing teams fighting for a playoff spot or positioning in the standings will mean a lot less loser points and a lot more straight losses screw they league they don't mind screwing the leafs thank you sammy you've given me a reason to keep watching them lol
