Welp… just when you thought the other night’s last second heartbreaking loss to a non-playoff team out West couldn’t get replicated.

I’ve got nothing, y’all. Liked our energy in the 1st period. Got an early lead. Bob made some awesome saves like the one on O’Connor in the 2nd period. Vilmanis gave us some great shifts on the 4th line. and then it all falls apart in the 3rd period yet again.

The rational part of my brain knows ***all*** the bodies we have out. Tkachuk’s back in and now we’re down Lundell/Marchand. On top of all the miles accumulated the last 3 years. Combine that with an insane East… it just *isn’t* our year. Still hurts all the same.

3 more games to finish off before the Olympic break and they can either officially bury us given who the opponents are in the Atlantic or not. We shall see.

My favorite move on the blueline is when you receive a pass and you juke twice and then wait for the goalie to catch up and *then* you send a muffin into someone’s knee. Love to see it

  3. SteamboatBilly15

yeah it’s not happening guys. tried not to doom for too long but just gotta make peace with that.

would rather miss the yoffs than squeak in as a skeleton squad and get embarrassed

  4. two_doors__Down

Just pathetic. Ah well. Hard to overcome injuries like we’ve had. They had a good run at it but you can’t keep dropping points you should have

  5. Look at me! I just saved 5k on playoff tickets! Whoop whoop

  6. RulingPredator

Nothing to really say anymore. This team is beyond broken now and we can’t even win against teams that aren’t even remotely in playoff contention. This season just needs to be over with so our team can recover and get some time off for the first time in 3 seasons.

  7. GruffyMcGuiness

Think the boys are just out of gas. And that’s okay, 3 straight Stanley Cups with 2 wins? Let’s get back after it next year with that extra rest for the first time in a long time

  8. BlueShire_Ace

I think we all get that we’re decimated by injuries. People need to stop acting like the talent now has what it takes to go on a hot streak to get us to a the post season. You’re now asking good teams to also go on losing streaks.

  9. LiterallyPoland29

i hate to say it, but we’re done this season guys

  10. Matteodilullo8

Stick a fork in it folks on to next year just to many injuries and the players look gassed not enough talent out there

  11. ConversationMost9990

DM me for the non-doomer support group our numbers have never been lower

  12. I remember this feeling, it’s a mid 2010s feeling. Now we can just enjoy hockey and not have to worry about all this playoff nonsense. Maybe clear out some fair weather fans to lower ticket prices a bit. Heh.

  13. mephjeff

I’m gonna keep watching. I’m not blind nor dumb. But you never ever know.

  14. TomatoEvery3607

This isn’t fun to watch. I know we are missing crucial guys and they are tired. But goodness sakes we still have enough talent on the top lines to have one some of these games vs not good teams

  15. RotoLando

Knowing why we keep losing doesn’t make it any more fun to watch it happen.

  16. Purple-Canary3576

This and the St. Louis game we really really couldn’t afford to drop. I’m okay with giving the boys a long summer break though. We’d have no chance in the playoffs with this many injuries anyway. Come back next season with everyone healthy and rested, starting with Barky

  17. Cman02101

Honest can’t even be that mad. They are injured to hell and gave us two cup wins with 3 straight appearances. Take the rest of the season to see how guys like Samo, Vilmanis, and maybe Devine fit into the roster for next year. Sell on some expiring contracts to restock for a push next year. Tbh looking forward to not having to stress myself out for two months straight

  18. tampapat54

Anything can still happen and I’ve seen some crazy runs in my life but this just doesn’t feel like our year tbh.

Post B2B hangover, injuries, mileage, inconsistent play and dumb breakdowns. So many things just wrong this year

  19. teeny__

Waste of a fantastic Bob performance. The team is generally playing and fighting well just too many injuries and the rest of the Atlantic being psychotic this year is seemingly gonna bury us.

Frustrating as all hell but it’s at least mostly just down to rotten luck and not due to poor decision making or lack of talent.

  20. YerekYeeter

Hold on tight because Montreal, NJ, Columbus, & Washington are all in play tonight as well

  21. startupsalesguy

Their inability to get games to OT has really hurt them in the standings. They have four more regulation wins than Montreal but are 8 points back.

  22. MadIrishMan17

Stop puck watching and get the fuck off the ice on your line change. Tkachuk and Bennett just coasting back let them tie the game.

Tkachuk should have done a conditioning stint in the minors before returning. He’s just not up to NHL game speed in decision making. Bennett trying to do too much when he has the puck.

*IF* the boys can get healthy, our post Olympics run will have to be absolutely outstanding to get into a WC spot.

  23. Silly_Gene574

    🫩🫩🫩

Okay. Yeah. I mean, anything’s possible! But these guys are visibly worn down. They need a NAP.

I’m kind of worried about our guys who are going to the Olympics too.

  24. ExtracurricularLoan

Don’t think this team could beat Colorado this year in a best of 7 anyway.

  25. theStripedMarlin

still stuck at 59 points unbelievable

  26. thedrizzle126

We’re not making the playoffs this year.

  27. thedrizzle126

Good thing the cats freed up my calendar in April

  28. Plinkatonic

Third game in a row where the team blows a lead in the third and loses in regulation.

I think that’s it for me, folks. My heart rate and stress levels need a break.

See you all after the Olympics. Maybe.

  29. Ok-Consideration5343

the jets woke up after that goal and the panthers just didn’t have a response for it. crushing

  30. KnightroZaxby

Save Barky for 26-27. Let’s move on.

  31. Wassy4444

That’s it. I’ve had enough. It’s time we start calling out the real issue with this team.

Bring back Sweetness and the leaping Panther.

  32. Key_Swimmer_1422

I cannot believe I left the house and we lost 😓😓😔😔

  33. ChampionshipFalse341

Petry’s contract ending is our Stanley Cup this year

  34. Anerythristic

Yeah that is it unless they go on a 12-14 game win streak lets not get too delusional. Great run. Enjoy the Cups.Lets rest and regroup and go in for #3 next season.

  35. Johnathan_Doe_anonym

Where are all the “We don’t start playing until March” mfs?

  36. StockHand1967

If Barkov was playing this would be 1-0

I truly underestimated how important he was

I discounted him… Nope .he is Boss Cat

  37. RotoLando

I can’t believe we spent all that money and clout convincing the refs to favor us, when the real power move would be shortening every game to the 40 or so minutes we have worth of gas.

  38. Sevuhrow

I had a feeling this would happen when we still only had 1 goal in the 3rd. History dictates we shit the bed at the last minute.
