Sortie du centenaire de Shinola

Et bien voilà, 750 $ pour un mouvement à quartz. Cela semble élevé, mais ça a l’air génial.

To quote my wife, « just looks like a watch. » I loved my Shinola Michigan State one but I was expecting the 100 logo on the face.

$750 for a quartz movement is crazy work

No logo on the face? What a let down. I was gonna buy this too

  4. scubastevie

I have one of their watches because of a rocket mortgage gift card at one point. I wouldn’t have bought one without that and I honestly am not super impressed

Shinola are wickedly overpriced for what they are. This looks like gimmicky fashion watch that could be had for $45 at Walmart.

    Low-effort money grab.

I know most things are, but this is too.

I cant think of a more disappointing company that Shinola. Used the ‘Detroit’ story to make it big then just sold out to make as much money as possible.

Just attach yourself to as many Detroit/Michigan things and have ‘special releases’ to keep the gimmick going.

Only cool thing is the “11” being shiny for how many cup the Wings have brought home.

$750 seems pretty standard for a Shinola. Not high at all.

  10. afghanwhiggle

Fuck Shinola and their wack-ass watches.

  11. Spiplot

Bruh 750$, logo on the back, shiny 11 ? What a joke.

  12. RemoteSenses

So it’s just a red watch lol

Super lame money grab. I almost bought a Shinola like 8 years ago then I looked into their quality details and found out they are an overpriced marketing gimmick for the most part.

Dang, the mere price of a lower bowl ticket to today’s game.

  14. WeenieHut-Sr

$750 for basically a Timex come the fuck on. I like that Shinola reps Detroit but they’re such a cash grab for what they’re offering.

  15. I like Shinola I have a
Canfield Sport, but the price and the design don’t look great! I’ll stick to Rolex

  16. XplodiaDustybread

$750 is too rich for my blood 😔 I don’t really mind that the 100 logo is on the back as much, would’ve preferred it on the front, but the color and band are really beautiful

Low effort budget looking watch. These are not the high quality time pieces the company wants you to believe they are.

Little underwhelming. It’s a clean look but not really what I was hoping for.

Personally I don’t want my team branded merch to be so low key. It’s a hard thing to do, no doubt, balancing style with logos without being tacky, but this just doesn’t do it for me. This is a safe mass appeal style.

Dig the 11, and hockeytown, but they should have done a oversized embossed or etched logo in matte or high gloss. Should at least have a octopus or 100 logo or winged wheel in the winding dial. I can see how this works for some folks.

Cool they sold out. Good to see folks are enthusiastic about our team and Detroit products.

I like the silver « 11 » for the 11 Cups. Nice subtle detail

Very meh watch, I was ready to buy when they fist announced something was coming. As soon as the pics leaked I was out

  21. d84-n1nj4

Economy must be doing well—selling out a $750 blah-looking watch.

  22. Mattytwok

Maaaaaan. I have a love hate relationship with Shinola. As a watch enthusiast, they’re objectively no where near worth the price tag, but on the other hand – I love the way they look. And I’ll admit their marketing “assembled in Detroit” works on me

  23. qcpuckhead

You know…if they came out with a collectible watch in the $150-200 price range that included the Red Wings colors and either the Winged Wheel or the Centennial logo on the face in a nice looking way (which is 100% doable)…

I’d probably get suckered into buying one, because I like watches and that would be cool. But they made this a bit too low-key and also so expensive that your average u/qcpuckhead can’t buy one. Kinda sad.

  24. Sea_Goal832

It’s basic AF. I’m sure it’s nice , but for $750 and a person who owns a quite a bit of watches, i had expected something more eye catching. The face looks like it was 3D printed in a mexican factory

  25. alyxandervision

Replacing Detroit on the face with « Hockeytown » is a nice touch. Would buy if I were made of money but otherwise too much money.

    “Sold out”

  27. m_ttl_ng

Looks nice and I like the 11 detail, but not putting the wings logo on the front is a massive miss.

  28. ichosehowe

$750 for a Shinola is a tough sell for me tbh. Nice looking watch though.

  29. spoonyfork

As much as I despise the opportunistic Shinola, I gotta hand it to their marketing department. They got 500 rubes to spend $750 on a basic red Fossil watch. 👏
