Holy fuck. Are the Boston Bruins about to end up with a solid and young middle-6 center and a top-10 draft pick for Brandon Carlo? Goodness. And I thought the Leafs got fleeced in the Laughton trade.
I will continue beating a dead horse. Signing Vladar was idiotic in July and even more idiotic now.
Briere should have let Fedotov/Ersson sink or swim for one more year. Players would have developed fine for a single more season. We’d be lined up for a blue chip prospect.
The smart thing now would be to course correct and trade Vladar while his stock is high.
They will draft between 8-12 the entire Tocchet regime, and get no where. Rinse and repeat for another decade.

I would look to trade couturier to a contender and eat half his money this summer. He can play a Jordan staal type role on a contender. I don’t care what comes back. The faces need to change. Sanheim can get them a 1st round pick this summer also. Get rid of the old blood this needs to change

Islanders won the lottery draft in the 11th spot and got Schaefer who is going to be their best player for many years to come. So you don’t necessarily need to finish in the top 3.
