McMichael is a really interesting one. Likely means he’s here through the Stanley Cup Finals as I don’t think you’re allowed to trade a player on injured reserve. If Washington was looking for a major upgrade on wing, a 25yr old RFA would likely be the centerpiece in a deal especially if they were far apart on contract negotiations.
You certainly have to wonder what this does to his contract negotiations/value as well given the season he’s had and now the inability to have a strong run down the stretch.
