Not too long ago, this type of hit would have lead to a serious suspension for Tom. It’s not far from the ones that got him punished before. I’m guessing he’s feeling pretty relieved right now because there are good grounds for it being suspended-able.I’m glad it’s not.
Either way, Tom has done a lot to repair his reputation in the eyes of the safety commish/refs and overall it’s best for him not to hit like this. We really need him on the ice.
I have a buddy who’s a Canes fan and he was being such a bitch about it. I was like dude you’re mad about a hit in hockey but you’re at the top of the metro division.
I swear people are literally insufferable. They complain that not enough people watch hockey and then they complain about stuff like a tough hit. Trouba did the same hit to Leno and that was fine.
They’re whining because Tom is the player they can’t bully.
