The blockbuster trade we were all expecting

    Copy/paste what I said in r/hockey

Seems White is a little more of a shut down guy while Poirier is a little more offensive.

With Parekh, Brzustewicz, and Mews, Poirier just slid way too far down the depth chart to ever be able to make the team.

White is unlikely to make it either, but I think fills a little more of an organizational need.

The only thing that doesn’t really make sense is that White is another RHD. It’s like Conroy wants to make sure we have every RHD in the world under contract

Was literally just thinking “Sure haven’t heard much about Poirier lately” after that flames prospects post. I hope he’s able to move up the depth chart and maybe get a better chance at establishing himself in the NHL with Dallas!

This is more of a Wranglers trade, but yea. Makes sense.

That’s a shame, for years I really thought Poirier had a chance to crack the NHL with Flames. Too good to be true though

It’s funny I was just thinking about poirier the other day and wondering what the plan was with him, he at one point seemed like out best d prospect, and then seemingly every year a guy would pass him on the depth chart

When I said the flames will be « havin Gavin  » I did mean a different Gavin…but fuck it we ball

Ideal world Bryz gets to stay up and flames move Pachal or Hanley

  9. All the best to Jeremie, was a good prospect but he was never the same after his injury.

At there very least this means Conroy is on the phones

White is 5’11 ». Poirier was 6’11 ». Both first round picks over the summer were sub 6’0 feet too.

Which successful franchise blueprint are we trying to replicate here, exactly? Certainly not the Panthers.

Conroy knows he’s on the hot seat and is prepared to make blockbusters like this
