What if the going rate is ridiculous for non rental players? You want to give up a 1st for a rental right now? I'd rather squeak into the playoffs and maybe win a round than waste 1st round pick(s) and have a first round exit. I would say we HAVE to make playoffs but if we can do it without wasting considerable assets on a rental then do that. I want a big trade for someone with a contract and possibility of resigning, or just trades on the margins using B level prospects and 2nd, 3rd, 4th round picks
If it’s a forward then he also needs to add a D. If it’s only a top 4 D then I’m okay with no forwards. The D is in shambles though. They only have 2 maybe 3 considering Aljo top 4 D men

Stop just stop you guys! They still need too much. One trade isn’t going to cut it. Yzerman needs to do better in the off-season. Not with high profile signings but with middle tier players with grit. Look at what Boston has done. Not much money spent but has the grit to compete with Tampa and Florida. Don’t trade assets for rentals.
