It can literally only be the late 70s-early 80s.

There has never been a golden era outside of that. Our teams usually suck.

We had 4 championships from 1974-1983, so probably that.

Has to be mid 70s to mid 80s.

Deep cut I guess and just on the outside of the era but I’m include them anyway. The Atoms won an NASL championship in 1973

The Flyers mad 6 finals appearances with 2 wins

The Phillies made the playoffs 7 times with 2 WS appearance and 1 win.

The eagles made the playoffs 4 straight seasons with 1 superbowl appearance.

The sixers made 3 finals appearances with 1 win.

Players on the teams include Dr J. Bobby Clarke. Bernie Parent. Mike Schmidt.

Mid 70’s to about 1990. After that our successes were few & far between.

Year is 1980 when all teams went to the final.

Most likely era is somewhere around that – maybe 75 (first Flyers cup) to 83.

Period 1974-1983 included all of the championships and finals appearances – these years ALSO included 1976 Flyers-Red Army; 1976 NBA and MLB All Star Games in Philadelphia; 1981 NCAA Final Four at Spectrum; best years of Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, and Doctor J, and Pete Rose. Army-Navy was still Philadelphia fixture; Big 5 was still a big deal. And you could still see games at the Convention Center and the Arena (ok, Philadelphia Kings were terrible and front for drug money and still)

It should be what was the best era you’ve actually witnessed in your lifetime.

For me, it was 1987 to 2011.

Team results aside, and acknowledging the bias of it being my own childhood…. I find it hard to believe there was a better time to be a kid watching Philly sports than having Utley and Dawkins simultaneously at the height of their greatness.
