    I was shouting for the last 4 minutes of the game, ‘DON’T PUT Hamonic on the ice!!! », they did after the ENG and first touch of the puck he flips it on an Avs player’s back when trying to clear it that almost leads to a chance to spoil the shutout.

    It is astounding how anytime he is on the ice he operates unwillingly as the 6th skater for the opposing team.

    I can’t fathom what would possess one to move their stick in that motion with the puck coming to the net at that angle. Either tie up the Av stick or deflect the puck behind the net. Swiping forward looks like he forgot whose net he was at…

    I don’t even understand how you make a motion towards a puck in that position. I bet he was trying to get his stick past the puck and tried to catch it to backhand it away but you can’t take that chance in a 1-0 game. Or anytime really.

    You know what’s crazy? I had forgotten until I was reading a recent article in The Athletic about comps for Edvinsson, but Hamonic was legitimately *good* for a few seasons as an Islander before turning into the Travis Hamonic we all know and…love?

    Like, you know how Edvinsson looks really good, especially for a really young defenseman? OG Travis Hamonic was his closest comp. That’s how good Hamonic was…and then he just collapsed after his 4th or 5th season.
