I feel like Larkin is a totally sheltered player on the roster and he knows it.
Last year four nation cup he played way better than I've ever seen him play on the Redwings.
I can't wrap my head around the praise of Larkin and the egg shells walking about his flaws.
I wish they trade a bunch of prospects and first picks for Scheffler from Jets and move Larkin to second or third line.
Seemed like a playoff type of game. Especially playing the same team a couple of days later. Good defensive effort. Seider skating stride for stride with MacKinnon and shutting him down on the right side was a thing of beauty. Seider stayed with him move for move and gave him nothing. Loved it.

The only criticism of defense was when hamonic almost put a rebound in our net on a panic clear

I think this wind puts the Red wings as top 4 in the NHL. I cannot imagine what bringing in those new pieces that are impact players will do to this team. It's a hard watch when the Wings are trying to get the puck out of their own end. They ring it around the boards to a winger that isn't there, or they flip it up in the air to center ice and try and chase it down, or they ice the puck. Rarely do they make a good exit from their zone, and when they do it's when the other team is changing lines.
First time the Avalanche have been shut out in 87 games… Over a full season since it's happened! This is the type of bounceback that says "this season isn't a fluke, we aim to be contenders going forward".

Does anyone here know the song that was for the 95 playoff run? I think it was called Go Wings. I’m not talking about I Want Stanley, regular or rap versions. Most of the players names were sung in the song and the only full line of lyrics that I rember are “Vernon, Johnson, Yzerman, Scotty Bowman’s got the plan! We beat all the other teams, Go Wings!”

Man, I really don't know what game they watch sometimes. Don't get me wrong, they show it a lot of heart and definitely played way better than they have the last several games. But calling this game a great 5 on 5 effort is strange to me, because I definitely think the Avs kicked our asses for large chunks of this game.

So cool being at the game and hearing let's go Red Wings more often then let's go avs, the crowd really was getting into it. First time since I moved to Colorado in 2022 I got to see the wings win
Forgive me for not having all the numbers, but the schedule is even easier than that when considering back to backs. The gauntlet that Detroit has faced goes away post break. Less games than others, and only 1 back to back remaining. Also, no west coast trips, where the others we are fighting for playoff and division spots have many back to backs, and west coast trips after the break. We just need to take care of business and the path to a playoff seed is right there for the taking.
