We could be in Florida’s situation. F£&k Florida! I hate the inconsistency too. I fking hate it in my core! But at least we don’t need to go .750-800 to simply get in. Unbelievably we have time to get to some semblance of a team that can play team D again. . . . I think. But god it’s ugly!
Got a few words after taking in your entire video. First, you're never more grounded and realistic, than you are after a loss, or string of losses. You see things clearly and call them out. Unfortunately, like many fans in these comments, you do tend to soften up rather easily with a few wins.
You were right, they could have, and in my opinion should have, gone 2-6 on this homestand. It's what I said in your video the other night. I didn't see anything to celebrate. They were entirely lucky to get the wins they did.
I said a month into the season that I was tired of Knobhead, I said it again about a month and a half ago, and I'm saying it again tonight. I don't care if these guy win 9 straight. I'm tired and finished with Knobhead. It's doubtful they will fire him this season, as bringing in a new coach this late in the season, is essentially a death calling.
As for anyone who tells you that you aren't an NHL coach and you don't know what you're talking about? Well, I'm not a mechanic, but I can assess bad mechanics work. I'm not a plumber, but I can assess bad plumbing. I'm not an electrician, but I can easily see bad electrical work. I'm not…………. Well, ya, you get the idea. I have no use for any idiot who tries to discount intelligent conversation with idiotic assumptions. Are you perfect? No. Neither am I. However you tend to have good takes on these rants. You have a nose for the issues that plague this team.
Lastly………. Janmark fed his stick to Matthews, he's lucky he didn't cut him and get a double minor. Anyone who wants to argue that, isn't even worth talking to, as they are infested with fanboyism. This team got beat tonight. They didn't have any stolen from them.
Seeing Mangiapane in the lineup tonight, I had already discarded it as a loss. Was it because he was in the lineup? No, it was because I already knew it was going to be a "Knobhead" night tonight. 🤦♂

Soon as the Oilers powerplay falls back to ground we will get an idea how far behind this team has fallen. Pre-season it was obvious this was yet another step back year and there would be no final 4. My off season wish was for the Oilers to trade McDavid, he wins the cup this season and then returns to Edmonton to run out his career. For McDavid's sake, I hope he asks for a trade in the off season so the Oilers can use the chips they have now to speed up the next rebuild. Otherwise the summer of 2028 there will be no picks, no prospects and a very veteran team. Perhaps Ottawa will send Claude G to the Oilers before the trade deadline? Perry and Brown leaving was huge and it also signaled something indeed was wrong. Others can do the up and down with the win and losses. This team may not make the second round. Most likely they get Colorado or Vegas in the first round, assuming they make the playoffs. An injury to McDavid ends their season lightening fast. Remember when Florida won the cup and Stamkos only played 7 minutes in the entire playoffs? That was a deep team. Oilers are a one and done team. Hope they do not give up more picks and prospects. I know Oiler fans want the upgrade but it would be a waste and oh how I would love to eat my words and watch McDavid hoist the cup in Edmonton. One can dream.
I blame all of this on knob, he needs to go, so does the defence coach as well as bowman.

Good show, Austin. Many of us agree with you. I'm just too 'beyond it' to bother to rant anymore. Why show passion, when the players don't? Why show passion, when the coaches don't? Tired of it all. Hoping for a better summer for this organization. Would like to see An Actual Team in Edmonton next season…

The first sign Knoblauch was not a fit last year not utilizing Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner properly right from pre season. He panic juggled the team in preseason. Connor McDavid should not pick the coach, he's a poor leader they need a leading coach.

Actually – Mangi was benched when he turned the puck over just inside the Leafs zone and Walman, with the Leafs coming in numbers, decided to keep going on the line change allowing McMann a breakaway and Ingram stoned him. After that play – Walman got more icetime, and Mangi pretty much got benched. Had nothing to do with the snow shower.
The Jay Woodcroft glaze is so tired. His team imploded under him, and then no GM wanted to make him a head coach. Also, the Oilers are making playoffs, don't be a baby. All that being said this team would get better if we swapped Knob for Deboer
