Dallas, currently, only has $16.6M available for next year's cap. They have Robertson (currently making $7.5M) and eight other RFAs and UFAs to resign. Unless they move one of their other players, they won't be able to offer Robertson more than $9M.
Pens current UFAs: Malkin, Hayes, Mantha, Acciari, Dewar, Clifton, Kulak, Shea, Solovyov, Dumba, Skinner, Boko, Koppanen, Aho, and Rafael–Pinard.
RFAs: Chinakov, Silovs, Alexeyev, Blomqvist, and Koivunen.
If the Pens win against Ottaw, sweeping all three games of Rust's suspension, does that hurt his prospects of being a Penguin after the trade deadline?
Does Dallas.want picks now? No. They'll want someone they can afford to slip into Robertson's place and more. That's where we have such an advantage over the other ,what , two teams that can afford him. Rakell, a NHL ready prospect, plus 2 2nds maybe???
