Aves commentator has to be about as biased as Jack Edwards
The sharks gameplan tonight read "Askarov". First two periods they couldn't put a pass together. I noticed Misa was able to generate chances but he is not confident with the puck on his stick. Power play looked anemic, the 5 forward set up did not help at all. The sharks are now 8th last in the standings, if you're one of the fans who want to tank for a defenseman in the upcoming draft you must be happy. The Sherwood trade is looking worse and worse the more games they lose.

Sharks offense went completely AWOL in the first two periods, so many unnecessary turnovers and icings when they had the puck. I'm glad they made a game of it in the end but the Olympic break will be a necessary reset.
Askarov is only a Shark because Grier did not think Blackwood was good enough.

The Sherwood trade is one of the worst trades of Griers career. It is something someone high and drunk would do.
When Grier took Simon Wang at 33 overall I thought that is wasting a 2nd rounder. He had stats from a high school level league and they were not even good from what I remember. He of course could be better than his stats.
Trading for Sherwood was even worse as Wang still hypothetically can become good in the nhl for years to come. Sherwood is a rental player who makes no difference to this year's sharks teams chance at a cup win.
I thought drafting Wang was Grier showing how to waste a 2nd rounder but Grier taught me an easier and worse way to top that. Even if Sherwood signs a new sharks contract it won't save how foolish that trade is.
