TSN Overdrive and SN Real Kyper and Bourne shows always overrates the Western teams. Oilers are a bad team that have great lucky breaks at the end of games to get a tie. Leaf fans have criticized the D ever since Andersen left, but made average goalies look good since then. Leafs lost in the POs the last 5 years because the whole team underperformed not just the D.

Your bit about Sam Bennett perfectly expressed my own deep chagrin that he got named to the team. But he whined about it and whined about it so much and he went to his friends in the NHL office and applied that usual Florida pressure, and the whiny little bitch got put on the team. Shocking when you consider how many guys who are better people, better players, and ethically sound human beings could’ve been chosen, like Zack Hyman for instance. Guys who’ve been lighting it up. But that’s just one more case of Florida having an undue influence and Bettman having his ear bent by them.
