@Canucks de Vancouver

What does the team standings and history tell you

I feel like this dialog was always open for Petey with Bruce. Bruce was the complete stark opposite of Tochett’s system – and Petey really thrived with him when he told him he wanted to play more, and play more of a 200ft game.

Bruce was always supporting the guys, and pretty open it seemed to new ideas.

Next coach I hope has a good balance of it all. I think Manny does have that balance to him, but he would need a strong supporting cast of assistant coaches and development team.

  3. I would say that the development staff is good.

Coaching staff though? In the NHL? No. In Abby? Yes.

We have dollar store medical staff apparently and no training facility. We’re not off to a good start.

Based on the players that have been developed in this organization I would say this is something they are terrible at.

Honestly our developmental staff in Abby seems to be pretty great. Manny and the Sedins have done a great job at turning raw prospects into NHL calibre players, look at how quickly guys like DPetey and Willander adjusted to the pro game down there, or the strides that older guys like Karlsson and Sasson made under him. Plus we have a goalie factory

On the other hand I think Foote is mismanaging some of our young guys. We’re tanking anyways and there’s zero reason to not be playing Raty consistently or having Lekki on the 4th line

  7. Man what I would give to have Bruce back, we might have been losing, but at least we played offensive style instead of slop Tocc and Foote play

Petey could have any coach in the world. He’s not getting better.

  9. We need a vibes coach at these times, not a drill sergeant.

Do the Canucks have good enough anything?

Our NHL coaching staff is some of the worst In canucks history. I think only iron Mike was worse. Can’t speak on coaches in the 70s- early 90s as I’m only 31.

    > Do we have a good enough development staff and coaching team?

The disrespect to Daniel & Henrik Sedin + Manny Malhotra smh.

Marty has been doing agreat job, but he also has such a talented young core. There core reminds me of the pens early on when they had young sid, geno, stall, flower, etc.

  14. We need a new coaching staff in the offseason. This season is a write off as we will probably get a top 3 pick

  15. Marty is the most articulate person ever and is clearly campaigning for the jack adams.. the problem is everything he says is just so on the money… there’s a reason they gave him the job with hardly any coaching experience, Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton deserve a lot of credit.
