Was he just not pulling his weight? Sad to see him go though

  2. veshpesh

I wonder if JBB stopped believing in him or just wanted to give him more playing time in AHL?

  3. ahuman1321

I don’t understand the decision there. This team’s management was so scared to put Douglas on waivers but was perfectly fine putting a better player on waivers instead.

  4. At a certain point, some of these guys will have to gamble on waivers. I hope he does well at STL

  5. HagelMcPointerov

Whelp, he did not make it far through the waiver order. Thanks for the 2 incredibly important goals and not much else

  6. Torkelsknipa

Seemed like a good kid from his Block party episode, best of luck in St. Louis to him. I’ll cherish the memory of his eyebrows and attempt to fight Foligno

  7. HockeyRules9186

How could no one see that. We have several that will be staged when attempting to put them thru waivers.

  8. Bigstakes7287

Such an odd development. We going to just ride Douglas I guess.

  9. Overseer190_

He was a good sub for 4th line, but it makes sense his hometown team claimed him

  10. I don’t get all the love for him from many in our fan base. He was supposed to be a faceoff man and his FOW has dropped to under 50%, still looks painfully slow out there, and only 3 points through 22 games. Just not a lot to be impressed about.

Yes I understand we could’ve sent others down to make room, but also he was probably going to be assigned at some point and JBB took a gamble doing it now. It could be a mistake, but nothing I’ve seen so far is suggestive that we can’t replace his skillset.

I am very surprised JBB didn’t just try a trade instead. I feel like we could have waited for the trades to unfreeze and gotten a 4th or something. It’s better than nothing (though it would have cost money).

I also don’t see the logic in Douglas over Finley. But surely JBB couldn’t have expected Finley to be likely to clear. Maybe it’s just a matter of doing right by a player; Finley at 23 is better off outside a press box, while Douglas likely is what he is.

RIP my daughter’s Finely sweater. She’s gonna be devastated.

  13. SparkyWilder

Im pretty sure anybody we put through waivers now will get picked up by some other team.

Definitely sucks to see him go, he was a good 4th line/Injury replacement guy.

Could be a decent faceoff guy with more development but thats why we have the waiver rule.

Puck out in St. Louis finley.

  15. Soon in the press box, you could have Lilleberg, D’astous, crozier, carlile, Douglas. Some of these guys (if not all) will have to go through waivers. Finley and Douglas are the odd ones our

Was hoping he would have a break out season with us, but watch him do better with the Blues.

  17. CelebrationPeach6157

Some people have mentioned in comments in other groups, and news reporters have also mentioned, that his father played for St. Louis at one point in time

  18. snoozyhermit

Wish he made it though. Bright side is less of a roster crunch when Point, Cirelli, Paul, D’Astous, Lilleberg return

  19. myloveislikewoah

Douglas should have been put on waivers instead of Finley. His 92 penalty minutes with only 2 points across 29 games is no bueno.

  20. ehero36

Who’s Finley and why are we jacking him off

  21. Worldly1998

I thought Finley was more likely to become a real hockey player than Douglas or Sabourin. Didn’t get enough playing time to start developing. We have at least 3 in Syracuse who need some time playing real minutes, if they can be fit in at this point. Geekie, Pelletier and Duke in any order you prefer should be at the top of the list. A lot will depend on healing time for Point, Cirelli and Paul. Players have certain roles and position and those can’t just be replaced and sitting in the press box won’t develop potential future stars.

  22. sawyer4325

Of course, I got a recent mystery pick signed by him. Oh well, good luck, Jack!

  23. Murphy0317

What the hell. Can admit to not understanding the finer details of up and down calls. But I liked his motor and his willingness to scrap and play his role.

  24. Low_Base1553

He never looked  like he fit in . He,just didn’t  seem to have a consistent spark.  Don’t feel like he fit the system

  25. chatoyer0956

Sad to lose that smoke show. I was really hoping he would be our face off guy, but I guess that didn’t happen.

  26. imblegen

I thought rosters were frozen for the Olympic break

  27. Crummy_Innuendo

Why was he put on waivers? 50th contract?

  28. AlternativeHot7491

Can we just get someone equally handsome?
