Perpetually in the shadow of their in-state rivals.

I don’t really understand why Michkov is given so little ice time. Is it warranted? Maybe a Flyers fan can chime in because I haven’t watched much of them this season, his ice time just seems surprisingly low.

Zegras isn’t a center so If that trade was done to solidify themselves down the middle, it failed. If it was done to get a winger who can give you 25 goals and 60 points a year, it’s a success. We’ll see how he does next season after he’s secured his bag.

They have some elite forward talent but no quality centers. Their defense is six second/third pairing guys and their goaltending, as always, is just ok. They are absolutely stuck at being too good to tank but not good enough to compete.

They’re doing that thing the Canucks were doing from 2013 until they announced their rebuild a little while ago

They’ve been stalled since 2012 and since then have been spinning their wheels around the edge of the WC spot, regardless of who’s coaching or in the front office. “They’re just 2-3 years away!” has been the team motto for at least a decade. I’m so tired.

The best thing Ron Hextall did as GM was to tell Bobby Clarke and the rest of the remaining bullies to piss off. The flyers sucked under Hexy too, but at least it was because of his management and not the same meddling of those old goobers wanting a massive stockpile of 2-way grinders that can’t score to save their lives.

Hard to win when your almost $8 million a year captain/center gives you 5 goals in 55 games played so far this season.

Simply stated, management refuses to be bad enough to get elite talent (1C & 1D) at the very top of the draft, we don’t have assets other teams want to trade for them, there are none to sign in FA, and we have zero drafting savvy to luck into them with a later pick. We’re hamsters on a wheel…

They’re heading toward the bottom for this year – so another top 10 pick. They are developing a situation where they can part with 3-5 players for 1 # 1 center or D in return. About 5 new players almost ready for the NHL. So figure out who goes and hope for a top 1 in return who doesn’t want to stay where he is.

They’re rebuilding but they don’t seem very committed to it.

As a Canucks fan, Hiring Tocchet was a mistake.
