I have been saying it since last year Matheson gets way too much ice time. Why are Matheson and Carrier on PK it makes no sense. I don't want to get started about Carrier… in all honesty I think the Goalie coach switch was a mistake. It is their Defense coaching that is a shitshow.. Habs are winning now but no way this is a winning combo in the playoffs.
On the positive note, Minny still needed ref's help to squeeze a win.

I've recently stopped wasting time blaming the officials for things regulated by the league. Sure , I might still 'rant' about it , but the league has their reasons for playing 'favourites' with certain teams , and there is nothing the rest of us can do about it. It is what it is. Hey, the Habs got a point out of this one and that ain't too shabby , especially when the ice was slanted against them. Even Dach is starting to look like he belongs as a Top Six forward again. Go HABs.

I'm so fed up of hearing "The officiating was terrible but we won't talk about it.". It needs to be spoken about. It needs to be put on the forefront. It needs to be addressed. This is unacceptable that a professional sports league manages their games this way. This is pathetic. There was a CLEAR favourite last night in who had it easier… and if you consider yourself even slightly a professional hockey league then you should not settle for that amount of bullshit. I'm STILL not over that dumb penalty against Hutson for being 4 feet away from a guy that tripped on the blue line… and they CALLED THAT! Then virtually the same shit happens with Suzuki but WITH CONTACT and all's good… Like what the fuck are we doing here? And this is ignoring the slashings, the holdings and the 50 picks there was in that game alone.. all going uncalled. People say it's the same for every team… Is it though?? I remember 1 game Montreal had in the beginning of this season. It was against Chicago. For some reason the refs dished out penalties left and right to Chicago. Not without cause… but I'm saying like 10 penalties total to our 4… and you know what's funny? Schlenker was a ref that game. Since then? He's been fucking us over HARD. It's almost as if he was scolding by someone since.
Bravo on not crying about the refs and pointing out the actual reason why they lost this game.

That game had some of the fastest back and forth play of the season. It was fun to watch. Minnesota fought just a little harder. Lots of mistakes on both sides, but Matheson made some great plays prior to that blueline bugger up.
Call this crazy , but the biggest acquisition Gorton & Hughes could ever do for this team is to acquire Jon Cooper as the coach for the Montreal Canadiens in the off season. I know he would love to have a hand in developing a once in a lifetime phenom like Demidov , and Hutson too.
Matheson definitely had his worst game of the season. He was noticeably bad last night.
My TOTs are… I wish the refs would practice some reps making consistent calls the way Hutson and Demidov worked on their plays last summer. I think we'd get better calls from one of those Magic 8 Balls.

I'll take the one point, we really didn't deserve to win last night. Yeah, the Officiating sucked but we didn't do ourselves any favours! And, we're lucky to hold on to 3rd in the Atlantic, with it being so hotly contested. Dobes didn't have a great outing, the defense didn't have a great outing and, this time around, the offense couldn't save our asses! Lots to work on if we want to go deep in the playoffs. Good timing though, with the Olympic break coming up, to refocus and regroup and keep building momentum. GHG 👍👍

TWICE LATELY MONTREAL WAS GIVEN A PENALTY ON 3 ON 3 . REF MIGHT AS WELL GIVE THE WIN TO THE OTHER TEAM. ITS RIDICULOUS, UNLESS ITS OBVIOUS AND THE OTHER GUY GOES ON A BREAKAWY AND YOU GIVE A PENALTY SHOT ITS OK BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS A NO CALL PERIOD. ANY TEAM WILL SCORE AT 4 ON 3, ITS SO OBVIOUS THE LEAGUE SHOULD WARNED ITS REFEREE THAT YOU DONT CALL PENALTIES ON 3 ON 3 LIKE IN THE FINALS, LET THE TEAMS DECIDE WHO WINS. PENALTY SHOULD BE FORGIVENED ON 3 ON3

Gary Bettman has instilled a very American way of doing things. Very simple: Money over everything else. Result: no team in Québec City, no team anywhere else in Canada, keep allowing fights and violent play, keep Canadian teams out of deep playoffs, rig officiating, etc.
Bettman"s nightmare would be a Winnipeg-Ottawa Stanley Cup finals.
