Problem with the pp is they make WAY too many lateral plays at the blue line and it kills their speed entering the zone.

Tage was better on the power play before teams realized we were just going to try to set him up for a slapshot.
If there is a sale on in Calgary, big defenseman Kevin Bahl might be a good addition. Only problem is he is another left-hand shot.
That first Sabres power play was absolutely miserable to watch. after like the 5th failed attempt to cross the blue line I'm like: at what point do you realize just dump and chase the puck? Almost the entirety of that power play was played in the neutral zone.
I’m not worried about the skid. 1-2-1 isn’t ideal but so many teams are complete loser point merchants (like the pens) and no one cares. Benson is one of the most important guys on the team and he needs to get healthy. The thing about the pens game that scares the hell out of me is why can’t they hit the net? Why can’t they even get close? That was the most frustrating thing about them before the hot streak that made we want them to blow the whole team up because they literally couldn’t even get close to the net it blew my mind.
Let’s face it, the reason that Thompson hasn’t been effective on the PowerPlay is because he not using his strongest weapon…his shot!!
His “Office” is in the same faceoff circle as Ovechkin, yet he REFUSES to shoot!! He’s looking for the fancy pass across the crease.
He needs to be more like Ovi and not worry about passing or his shot being stopped and RIP IT everytime that puck enters his Wheel House!!

This was the most uninspiring pathetic effort I have seen from the Sabres since early December. It literally looked like 1/2 of them were already on break. Jacob Bryson was individually responsible for 2 goals against. Clearly he was not ready to come back so why tf did you put him in and then after he cost you 1 goal because he forgot his job as a defensemen was to NOT let a guy skate right into your goalies lap untouched with the puck, you put him in again?? We were only able to shoot in 2 places tonight. One was 2 feet wide of the net, the other was directly into the mid section of the goalie. You aren’t going to win every game and I can live with a loss. What I can’t do is sit here snd watch more games thst look like the last 5 years. Games where they show no heart and just make 1 stupid mistake after another. Krebs literally gives up the ot goal in Tampa because he decides it’s not worth covering a guy behind him with under a minute left snd his bounce back is to forget where he was on the ice snd run right into the goalie? You could literally use this film of the Sabres to show nearly every mistake thst youth hockey players regularly make. We don’t need you to be perfect Sabres but we need you to wake tf up!! I can’t believe this is the taste they decide to leave for fans for nearly 3 weeks, fuckin’ pathetic!!!
Let's be honest, it's been rare, but Lyon didn't have a good game and he basically said that after the game. This break is coming at a perfect time. Benson not playing is really noticeable.
The idea of stamkos is great. Actually having stamkos on the roster is a complete disaster of an idea
On power play dump & forecheck is a solution? Physical d man would help w the top 4 d. A center / winger would certainly help the forward group that has smaller forwards like Benson. In order to get impactfull players w term in a trade you have to trade picks & prospects . Tough decisions to make. Prospects like Rosen, Helinius would have to be in play.
