Why are these writers rushing to trade Siegenthaler? I don’t get it, he’s on a good contract and our left side becomes an issue without him

And if you want to say he’s been underperforming, fine, but with that logic why would a team give up their top nhl ready prospects for him?

Always appreciate the write up! I’d much rather trade Dilly then Siegs. My 2 cents

I thought about this but I don’t see us trading a defensemen. They have the room and willingness to push for a playoff spot so I’d see a depth forward being trade for next to nothing. If we’re trading a defenseman it should be Dougie or Dilly. Dilly seems more likely for the Sabres.

Yes please give me a 1st rounder and Jack Quinn for Seigenthaler!

I keep going back to what worked in 2012 during that run because the devils were certainly not the most talented team in the East. But the makeup of the D corps speaks to your vision of the blue line. Our only true shutdown defensemen were Volchenkov and Salvador. That blue line was full of solid puck moving defensemen who played the gaps well while not being overly physical. I think that’s a blueprint that can work. I am very open to moving Siegenthaler or Dillon if the price is right and focus much more on positional play and back end mobility.

No thanks, we already have one player made of glass, don’t need another.
