Don't give up any blue chip prospects for a less than a point per game aging vet aav doesn't matter. Picks or depth prospects are fine

  2. So what are we looking at here? We only need two pieces to be complete. But would trocheck if acquired get you to the finals? I don't think so. There's 25 games left he won't get you to the Stanley cup this year. Patrick Kane May retire. I'd rather take EP 40. He's younger and Lucas Raymond and him have good chemistry. Then bring up some of the prospects next year.

  3. Brain is so back in the first 10 secs dropped his penn and awkwardly asked how being away from him wouldn't be. Nice to see you back haha

  4. Dudes 32 guys wtf are we even talking about here? He will be 35 when his deals up. Yet another terrible take. Is he better than Copp and compher yes but you’ll be played by the rangers if you give anything valuable for Trocheck

  5. Perhaps a contending team that needs some scoring depth would be more suited for an aging, less than point per game player.

  6. How motivated do you think Trocheck is to play D, on this version of the Rangers. He would be re-energized by the Winged Wheel, and he would look awesome wearing it! LGRW!

  7. I mean calling someone who is 32 as “mid-30’s”???? So Brian is technically in his mid’s too then 😂. Trochek is on the Olympic team. Isn’t that pretty telling about his talent? He’s clearly not the same player as Compher or Copp.

  8. People talking like we don’t need more offense and acting like 32 is ancient. I could see if he had six years left on the deal, but it isn’t like that. With the cap moving up, people need to recalibrate what salaries mean. The salary isn’t bad especially in this cap.

  9. I don't understand the salary cap and all its nuances. But can you tell me why, with the Wings seemingly millions of dollars under the cap, we can't use that space to pick up a nice player using almost nothing other than that money? Surely there are underperforming teams who want to dump salary, including really good players, if they figure they're going to lose anyway and would like salary relief. Isn't there?

Sure, give them a draft pick or a prospect along with cash, but why shouldn't the Wings be able to mostly use cash to pick up a scorer or a legitimate #2 pairing defensemen (even if the guy is considered overpaid).

Oh, and I don't mean a rental. We're not winning the cup this year. A rental will have zero possible long term benefit, unless we felt this would give us a good change to sign him for more years in the offseason.

  10. I really don't think we'd have to give up that first rounder. I have no problem sending a 2026 or 2027 first off, mind you, but I think we can get away with a second and a B+ or A- level prospect.
