Another Drury failure, not for signing this player, that was actually a good move but everything else that he did that led to this barn fire! lol. He probably doesn’t want to play for Drury anymore like half of the team.
I can understand Gav is not happy but on top of everything else, this has been an injury riddled team all season. either will be better next season or Drury will be fired and get better after that so we’ll see
BTW I kept telling you guys Mika wasn’t washed up. I thought maybe he was dealing with long Covid or something because his explosive stride wasn’t there
neither was his timing.
Now that those things are back and assuming he doesn’t have any more problems, I think he’s even if he’s not prime Mika think he’s going to be right up there for another two years

His consistency is great and he’s a gritty playmaker
they need to go hard after brady tkachuk (I can't think of many others who would be a key difference maker in a "retool") then get karlsson + malkin (coaches have familiarity with them) use troch, laf, schneider and fox to get those deals done
Imagine a PP line of miller,mika,malkin,tkachuk,karlsson (pp2 – cuylle,laba,perreault,greentree,morrow)
Take the L. And rebuild. Minnesota wild finally got rid of Zach Prezi and Ryan Suter paid them off so now we have money and look at what Billy G has done a phenomenal 🎉 job. New York is my second favorite team and I can’t stand them being like this so miserable in the NHL.
Tear the whole thing down and start over.
Why would anyone want to play for this team ? I was at Ranger vs Islander game in December. They didn’t get one shot on goal until after 9:00 of play . They are not a fun team to watch and honestly until you get rid of Drury , it will still be the same team

Seriously, is there any point to holding on to an 11.5 mil goaltender when the team is likely going to be "sucking salt" for the next 3-5 yrs & maybe more. How about packaging Shesty and Fox or Gavy to Winnipeg for Hellebuyck and Morrissey?" Not sure if Winnipeg would bite, but is at least worth investigating. However, it's Dreary so there is that!
Gavrokov also came to be with Panarin and then Panarin doesn’t agree to a contract so in a way it’s also his fault

This will get a lot worse before it gets better. We are at least 5 years off before being competitive again. Think what Buffalo Sabres went through, only worse.

Veteran Rangers fans should know: Mika alternates between good & bad years. Now’s the time to be shopping him, not waiting until he starts playing like dog crap.
