https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7061440/2026/02/20/usa-olympic-hockey-dylan-larkin-gold/

The entire league talks about him with the utmost admiration, and even says his leadership is incredible, and massively underrated. I don’t know where half this sub or fanbase got their opinions about Larkin, but there are 31 teams, and 31 teams worth of players in the NHL who would all trip over themselves for Larkin. We’re incredibly lucky to have him, and I’m glad he’s getting the recognition and admiration he’s always deserved. I hope it knocks some sense in to some of the jabronis that are fans of this team.

All I know is that I love that Dyl Dadd is on this team.

This kind of reminds me of how everyone 5-6 years ago thought that the most underrated guy in the league was Barkov. Man would I love that trajectory. Lucky to have Larkin

He’s been great this tourney. Every US tournament his impact becomes undeniable. May turn into a US legend if he plays big in the final

  7. As LGRW fan from Finland (Europe ;P) ive always felt that Larkin is a Michigan homeboy who stuck with the team from the absolute low to this upwards trajectory. I quite honestly don’t know why some ‘fans’ have tried vouching for his trade throughout this rebuild..

He’s been such a solid and consistent stud with captains attitude all the way from draft

True story. I used to have The Score app installed on my phone. What made me remove it and never visit their site again was the time they had a top 100 NHL players ranking and placed Larkin in the 70s. It was a real wtf moment

Larkin’s greatest sin is not being as good as Yzerman, Lidstrom or Zetterberg. He is a fantastic player and the haters in this sub saying he was useless after four periods of Olympic hockey because he hadn’t put any goals up yet can suck my hairy ballsac.

His play with better players proves that it will be a complete failure on yzermans part to not make a move to get better players at the deadline. Larkin has it in him, but the nhl might be the hardest sport for one guy to will his team to winning.

“I’m just trying to chip in and, I think, prove myself playing in big games that I can do it,” Larkin said. “It means a lot to me because I haven’t had a lot of opportunities to do that.”

Never a bad thing when the Captain learns he’s a big game player.

  12. As someone who has moved to FL in recent years (2019 lol), I have done nothing but go to war for my Captain. I will proudly stand on business when anybody tries with some bullshit lmao

Damn, I hear this Larkin kid is pretty good.

He’s not above criticism but every time I see someone say he’s not a good captain it’s insane to me
