@Flames de Calgary

Unless the flames get an absolute haul which is possible, I don’t see them moving Weegar. Would be happy to be proven wrong though!

Silly Senators, everyone knows that the Flames only trade their players when they are pending UFAs or their relationship with the player has completely broken down. Weegar is fits neither group, so there’s no trade to be had.

Ok sure, we’ll take Jake Sanderson please!

  4. LoveisBaconisLove

His deal is up in 2031, it would have to be a haul

They’re not moving Weegar. He’s the best captain

If they can get a couple of 1sts for him they should do it. He’s going to be 34/35 by the time this team might be ready to start actual competing

Decent enough return and I’d do it.

    Pay the fuck up then

I’m thinking Ras trade plus an additional 1st. So 2 1st, a 2nd and solid roster player.

Garrioch is the only insider that ever made Eklund look competent.

i dont like it, but i get it if they do it.

The problem with Ottawa as a potential trade partner is they don’t really have the assets to make the deal work for the Flames. What the Flames would probably want is a young player, a good prospect, and a first round draft pick. For a team that has been rebuilding for years, they don’t really have any young players or prospects that they would trade and fit a need for the Flames.

Il believe a player waiving his NTC to go to Ottawa when I see it. Unprecedented in the modern era.

I would take a first, pinto or cozens and a prospect and your sitting fine. You got a lot of prospects on the right side

  14. Hi_Im_Flabber

Lol Garrioch is not an insider. Regardless, the Sens have so few assets they would move that the Flames would be interested in. They aren’t going to move Pinto, they already lost this years 1st. I guess they can offer enough draft capital from future years, but I don’t see that as likely

  15. PaleSurprise2770

Ottawa’s probably going to have to give up a shit-ton if they want Weegs.

  16. imaybeacatIRl

If the offer is good, and weegar would waive? Absolutely yes.

I think this is just wishcasting to be honest. Player is from Ottawa therefore he should come play for Ottawa. The same way we wishcast Cale Makar coming home.

Before this season I would’ve said no way unless it was an egregious haul. With the way he has played this season though…there’s not many assets from Ottawa I would want though

Hopefully the Sens believe they’re getting Weegar from the last two years. This year’s version has been total buns.
