Also with the CHL exodus, the NCAA is a lot stronger in McKennas year compared to Celebrinis year. Plus McKenna is on a worse team.
Guys, were not getting McKenna at 3. Let’s stop getting our hopes up 😔
Funny how ppl went cold on him (pre bar incident). So many clowns.
He is 1st easily
An 8 point night really helps things
And he can fight too, sign me up.
As someone who has been on the Stenberg bandwagon.
McKenna:

There’s a reason he’s projected 1OA for the majority of the time. Most scouts knew the transition to NCAA was a bit higher learning curve for him, but months later, he’s dominating again. 8 points in 1 game is a headline you rarely hear in hockey.
If you have the pick, take McKenna and don’t overthink it. He’ll be a gamer.
Get a Canadian kid for once.
Please no more Swedes from the draft. Take a Canadian
Top 2 should be studs. We have a 43.7% chance here.
Let the gods be good.
foote: we were right there
Sometimes, it takes time for someone to get comfortable in a new league or a new place. You can tell that after the World Juniors that McKenna has gotten more comfortable in the NCAA.
Anyone with a strong take on McKenna vs Stenberg is talking out their ass. It’s a Win-Win if you’re drafting Top-2.
That said, if the Canucks draft McKenna I will be buying that jersey ASAP.
Knowing you got the job a year ago must be nice
“With the first selection of the 2026 NHL Draft, the Vancouver Canucks select…”
“Malte Gustafsson”
I dont think I could continue to root for the Canucks if they passed on him.
This team needs to start buying Canadian.
An 8 point game will do that.
It’s all fun and games until the Canucks don’t win the draft lottery lol
Often forgotten in all these comps is that Celebrini was younger in his draft year while McKenna is a late. It matters
Celebrini definitely had a more complete game. Mckenna is more of a Bedard prospect in that sense, but all players as skilled and smart as Mckenna/Bedard can figure it out defensively. McKennas skating looks better than bedards too, so it should be even easier for him. Also, Bedard played zero time in a league with defense. McKenna’s, albeit hasn’t shown much defensively, has at least a season in that atmosphere. It’ll just take time.
Yea, I’m on board the McKenna train again
If you get the 1OA pick, you gotta pick this guy.
Celebrini is also a center and better defensively. McKenna is great but not Celebrini.
I think with recent events and showing hes tough as nails. Hes the clear 1st overall
Someone tell this to JR and Allvin.. it seems theyre probably more interested in stenberg and verhoeff. Stenberg because hes Swedish and probably breaks the sedins SHL records and canucks media have been giving Verhoeff the most publicity.
Canucks luck would’ve been if the lottery was in January and we picked Stenberg over McKenna. Not saying either is wrong, but just our Canucks luck.
We are absolutely drafting 3rd
We entitled to it after losing Quinn Hughes!
One guy is playing for a gold medal with some of the greatest players in history and the other is trying to study for midterms. We don’t need to compare them just yet.
